Pomander Balls

Has anyone done pomander balls? I want to start them... but how much are bunches of silk flowers at michaels? Or, where has anyone gotten their flowers for pomander balls? Also, does anyone have bright pink and deep purple ones for sale? :)
Thanks!!

I can't help, I only have white florist tissue pomander balls from our wedding.  I've heard quite a few girls say they wait for the Michael's coupons and then go buy the flowers to get them at 40% off --- might take you awhile to get all of them but you've got enough time that it might work (and not be such an undertaking to get them all done!)  Good luck doing them, they are beautiful but take A LOT of time and patience!  :-)

I did mine with fabric, I really liked the way it looked in the end, but I'm not gonna lie, it was a lot of work, and needed way more fabric than I would have thought! (I think it was about 2 1/2 yard of fabric for a 6 inch ball. Crazy)

Its not letting me do PIP, grrr, but if you want to see a pic PM me.

Personally I think that they look much better with real flowers! And they are quite inexpensive depending on which flower you use. I am planning on doing these (or something like them) for our pew decorations at the church with hydrangeas :)

Thanks for the help and ideas! I think I am going to go to Hobby Lobby, I like the hydrangeas they have there, and I can't do real flowers because I am allergic! :(
