Weekend Checks/Update?!

Hey ladies!  Hope you all had a great holiday weekend!

Get any WR checks done or did you just hang out & celebrate all weekend?

--

We had a busy weekend filled with family, friends & a few WR checks!

Friday - Had my makeup trial & then FI & I went out for some drinks with friends.
Saturday - Made a trip to Wisconny to visit FI's aunt & uncle's cabin.  We hung out with a bunch of the family, went tubing & played on jet skis... It was a great day!  Then we headed to our friends house for a bit, that night.
Sunday - FI & I took all the twine bows off of the invites & decided to leave them blank.  We then closed them all up, put the stamps on & they're ready to go out this week!  Sunday night, we went to fireworks with my family, which were great!
Monday -  FI & I looked into hotels for our wedding night lodging.  We found one we liked, at a decent rate & booked it!  = )  Went to lunch with the family & then grilled out last night with friends!

Nothing too WR here except that I sent out my STD's last week and that has satiated my Wedding planning appetite for a while. ;) haha. But really, my mom and I finalized the menu, sorta. Now we have to make the final deposit on the venue & "officially" book the caterer.

    Ummm... yes!

Friday: Final meeting with the site coordinator at the ECC. The cost came out to half of what we were expecting, which is nice! Set up a "plan B" in case Sunday's weather is what is currently forecast (pray!!!). I'm hoping it rains on Sat and cools everything down to like 75*!

Saturday: Went to friends' wedding in WI. A storm had just hit so they had no electricity at the church or reception hall! The bride held it together very well, and it was beautiful despite the darkness and heat. She was on CBS for a few seconds!

Sunday: Finished the cute bean bags for our bean bag toss games. Got paint to decorate boards. My parents booked our wedding night B & B, and FI booked our hotels in Chicago for the honeymoon.

I'm so ready for all this to be over and to just be on my honeymoon!

Hope you al had a great fourth!!  We got a few of WR stuff done earlier in the week!
We got all of our pink votives in the mail.  Booked our florist and harpist (for the ceremony) and picked up little black rocks for the centerpeices. My closet at home is starting to get filled with WR stuff :)

This weekend was crazy for getting stuff done, but I'm hoping to work really hard today and tomorrow so I can be done by the rehersal on thursday.

Oh, and FI broke out in some sort of severe allergic reaction on Sunday, and its only gotten worse.  We spent all last night in the ER, and even the strong meds they gave him aren't helping at all.  Just praying he feels better, he can hardly function or even talk since he is in so much itchy pain.

Oh no, Enchanted! I hope he gets better asap. That sounds awful. :( I can't believe you are so close-- you and your HUGE wedding guest list! :) How many total are coming? ALSO-- how is your little pup Levi (is that the right name? I feel like it is but I'm not sure.)

We ended up quite a bit lower then I expected(happy!), a little over 300.  I think I kinda skewed my numbers a little bit, because we have a TON of single people that I counted at inviting two people, but hardly any are bringing dates.  According to my mom, we really only invited like 500 people, because she didn't count any "and guests."

I can't believe I'm this close either!  I posted a ton in the beginning and stoped being around like 6-9 months ago.. and there has been so much going on, and the time has just flown by.  It was like, as soon as I stopped thinking about the wedding so much, time speed up.  Four days!  It seems unreal.

Levi is doing great!  He's about six months I guess and probably a good 70 pounds, at least!  He's such a monster/terror/beast.  I don't think anyone could throw him around now. :)  Oh, and speaking of dog advice, anyone have any tips for dealing with a stinky dog?  Levi is super stinky.. I bathe him like constantly and it doesn't seem to help much.  It doesn't help that both dogs are constantly covered in slober (sp? haha) from playing so much.

@Enchated... this may sound weird or odd, but our dog used to stink ALOT...no matter what, she just always had a smell about her. We talked to our vet about it and they recommeded changing her food to a "natural" food with better ingredients, which we found at petco, and it has help her tremendously. Not only did it help with the stench, it also helped her tummy (sensitive stomach),her coat and teeth.  Might be something worth talking to your vet about, but it helped my pup.

I hadn't thought about it the way aabrahams put it, but now that I think of it, natural food probably REALLY helps. My lab is almost a year now and labs are usually known for having a bit of a stink. She doesn't smell at all (in fact, she usually smells nice, haha). But we feed her super good organic food. It's very expensive, but worth it. There are less expensive brands than the one we use (Orijen), like Wellness or Blue, that you can get at petsmart or petco. If you can afford it, I'd piggyback on aabraham's suggestion.

Glad to hear Levi is doing well! You should post updated pics sometime. ;) Can't wait to hear how the wedding goes! I think it is good that you are under your expected number, it will probably feel a lot less crowded that way. :)

I'm with you guys on the organic food. Our cat was having serious stomach issues, until our vet told us to switch to a gluten free food. I feel ridiculous saying it, but my cat is gluten intolerant.

We use Nurto Natural Choice for sensitive stomachs which I beleive has venison in it, but there are plenty of other flavors. It is a tad bit more expensive (like 15.00 more a bag) but you can get it from petco, and if you sign up on their website, they send a 10.00 off coupon once a month.

hm weekend checks- my mom and I pounded out a bunch of embossed stamps on the main invite. 112 of 140 wre good enough to use (pretty high error rate!) so I need to print out a few more sheets of them and finish them out. That took us almost two hours.

Also decided on a weekend for our "couples" shower with FI's family.  So I basically have 3 weekends in August booked up in a row- Shower in my hometown (4 hours away), Shower with FI's fam (2 hours away) and then the bachelorette party trip for the 3rd (extended) weekend. busy month!

My main accomplishments this weekend were drinking and tanning. 4 day weekend was great :)

We got a lot done! We moved into our new apartment. We've never lived together before, so we are really excited to have our new place. I got all of our escort cards made & tagged them to our favors, and today my mom and I organized as much wedding junk as we could so that it will be easier to haul. Getting really excited for my shower & bach party this weekend!!!
