Gray or Black Tuxes

Would you girls choose gray or black tuxes for a watermelon pink, and plum purple outdoor wedding?
FI likes Black more, just because I think he's afraid of something different.
I really like the gray, its modern, and more casual to me.
Also, what color bridesmaid dress would you choose with gray tuxes, pink or purple?
Vote for what you think, and any comments would be great

PS-I accidently posted this without the gray and purple dress option, and it won't let me add it!! So if you vote Gray with purple dresses, please post it!

I think grey would look great with either pink or purple dresses! I agree, I love the look for a more casual wedding! However, if FI is truly uncomfortable with the grey tuxes, it might be better to just let it go. He deserves a say in what he wants to wear. Maybe take'm to try on both. If he sees himself in a grey tux, maybe it'll seem less weird to him.

I totally agree with the other girls on the grey tuxes, and I'm partial to the plum BM dresses but I think either would work.  I'm hoping my FI goes along with my grey tux idea too

We had black tuxes with purpley-grey bridesmaid dresses (they're in my married bio under 'pro pics"), and I loved how it looked.

I really, really wanted grey suits, but then I realized that it's not really my choice what DH and his groomsmen wore. If he'd tried to dictate my dress or the bridesmaids' dresses, I would've been annoyed. I'd leave it up to him to decide, especially if he's not especially opinionated about other aspects (like my H).

Some guys have this whole James Bond fantasy thing going on with the black tuxes. In retrospect, though, they looked great in them.

We looked at grey tuxes and hated them - but LOVED grey 3-piece suits.  The tuxedo stripes and borders don't look that great on tuxes, IMO... kinda reminded me of my uncle's baby blue tuxes from his late 70's wedding.  

Savvi has a few options for grey 3-piece suits, and has a new one coming out in the next month or so that is more medium grey.

Anyway, I vote the plum with grey!

I like the gray pink and gray purple options! Black tuxes are classic, and you really can't go wrong, but gray looks so damn cool!

We did gray tuxes and they looked great.

Also, I voted for pink with gray, but then read more closely and saw that your "purple" is really a plum, which I think is GORGEOUS paired with gray. So I vote for that!
