What are your songs?

Re: What are your songs?

  • For Prelude: Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring
    Processional: Trumpet Voluntary
    and Recessional: Trumpet Tune

Once upon a time, there was a boy who loved a girl, and her laughter was a question he wanted to spend his whole life answering.
  • For Prelude
Whatever our DJ felt like playing. I don't even know since I wasn't in the room. I didn't really care, since I knew my DJ would have enough sense to not play Scandinavian death metal at that time.

    Processional
An acoustic guitar version of "Canon in D"

    and Recessional?
    U2's "Beautiful Day"

  • preservice - standard wedding classics peformed by string quartet of my high school orchestra friends
processional - Don't Stop Believing - also done by string quartet, adding in electric guitar for the 1st violin part
recessional - haven't decided yet.  probaby trumpet voluntary.  One of my friends who is  a piano teacher will be playing, I trust her judgement.

Fiance would like the Imperial March from Star Wars as the recessional, but I think he'll have to wait until our entrance at the reception for that.
  • Prelude - no clue.  The string trio chose from classical music.
    Processional - Ave Maria
Recessional - Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring in an upbeat tempo.

  • hm. We had a bunch of random piano music for the prelude. We also just had piano versions (No voice) for all songs but the unity song.

Wedding party processional was "heart of life" by John Mayer, piano

Bridal processional was "yellow" by Coldplay, piano

Recessional was the Charlie Brown theme song, piano
  • We had an amazing harpist play:
    Fields of Gold
    Cannon
    All You Need is Love

Prelude - 15-20 minutes worth of classical music, chosen by our pianist (honestly, I didn't even care about this, since I was hiding out in another room, waiting for the processional!)
Processional - Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring
    Recessional - Trumpet Tune
    Anniversary
  • For Prelude - Whatever... probably just classical music
Processional - Cannon in D  I want to be traditional
and Recessional? - bburkel, FI also wanted to do the Imperial Death March, and I've told him absolutely not on many occasions!!!
We'll actually be doing a song from the Zelda Symphony.  I would post a link to the exact one, but it seems I've forgotten which song exactly.  FI knows.

  • I haven't decided on any songs yet but I was thinking about walking down the aisle to an instrumental version of "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz because we kinda consider that "our song" :-) Otherwise that's the general idea I'm thinking - instrumental versions of songs we like. I'll probably pay for my DJ to download some Vitamin String Quartet or similar to play before the ceremony and choose a couple specifically for each walk. My friends did a song from Zelda (not sure what exactly the song was) so it got me thinking about doing some sort of song from WoW because I'm a nerd like that.. still a possibility but not very likely, haha.

  • Not sure for prelude yet.

For Processional, instrumental version of Bittersweet Symphony either played by the DJ or by my best friend's brother who's a musician.

Bridal Processional might be the instrumental version of Halo (the Beyonce song), again played by either the DJ or my best friend's brother.

Recessional not sure yet either, lol.

  • Ssaltzman87 - Bittersweet Symphony

I played this with one of my friends for a wedding.  He did acoustic guitar, I did violin.  It sounded pretty cool.

  • Prelude- "Threads of Love", Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring, and one other song to be determined

    Processional - Canon in D
Bridal Processional - Here Comes the Bride (cheesy but I want it, FI likes it, and our pianist has a beautiful transition she plays between the two)

My brother/officiant did suggest the bridal party (and myself) walk down the aisle to "I'm Sexy and I Know It" but I think he was joking to see what I'd say lol!

Recessional - I don't know the name, but it is the traditional bridal recessional

  • Prelude- Whatever classic romantic songs our pianist wants to play.

Processional- Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring
    Bride Processional Cannon in D
    (Both on Piano)

Recessional- The wedding march.  Our church has a HUGE organ and it will be played on that.  totally traditional, but well worth it in my opinion!
