My dad had a CAT scan this week. His has another tumor in his lungs (metastasized from esophageal cancer), and now the cancer has spread to his lymph node in his chest. I am not sure what the doctors would do now, if anything. He had his pain meds quadrupled in strength to get through the day. He's not a candidate for more surgeries.
Summary - He was diagnosed with esophageal cancer 5.5 years ago. [
NOTE: if you or a loved one gets repeated heartburn or acid reflux - it's serious!] Since then he's had a round of chemo/radiation, his esophagus surgically removed and stomach pulled up, cancerous tumors showed up in lungs, another round of chemo, and now this verdict.
A photo of us from my recent visit to Indiana this month. He's 58, quite young really.

It's sad. I'm sad.
