EDIT: MARRIED! Vendor Reviews

We got married May 19, and below is a summary of the vendors we used (I think I got them all!)  Any questions just ask!

Rehearsal Dinner: Westin- Edina Galleria

There were a few hiccups during the planning process, mainly with getting the contract/signing the contract, but after that working with the Westin was wonderful.  The food was SO good, the venue was beautiful, and the dinner went off without the slightest hitch.  It was a little pricier than other options, but we got so many comments about how the food was the best they’d ever had, and how wonderful the venue was.  I would HIGHLY recommend the Westin for any events.

Room Block: Westin-Edina Galleria

The rooms were incredible, and again we got so many compliments about the location, staff, and rooms themselves.  The price was pretty competitive with other hotels in the area, a little bit more but the rooms were way nicer.  We have no regrets with choosing the Westin for our block.

Hair/Make-Up: Cole’s Salon- Burnsville

I got my nails, hair and make-up all done at Cole’s Salon, and they did an amazing job!  Everything turned out just the way I had envisioned, and the girls were all so nice.  I got so many compliments on my hair and make-up, and would highly recommend Cole’s Salon.

Flowers: Bachmans

Again, I got so many compliments on our flowers, we had them do all of the bouquets and corsages, a huge arrangement for our escort card table, and centerpieces for the tables at our reception, and they all turned out even better than I had imagined.  They really listened to what I said I wanted, and kept within our budget.  My photographer even said they were the prettiest flowers he’d ever seen, and he’s seen a lot of wedding flowers.  Lynn was the one who helped us, and she was so helpful throughout the whole process (I completely changed my mind halfway through, and she could not have been more gracious).

Photographer: Jim Clifford Photography

Jim photographed my brother’s wedding 7 years ago, so when I got engaged this decision was a no-brainer.  We haven’t gotten the wedding pics back yet, but the engagement pictures were beautiful and I’m positive that we are going to be thrilled with our wedding pictures as well.  He truly is an artist, and he is so fun that you can’t help but have a good time and feel beautiful in front of his lens!

EDIT: We just got our wedding pictures back, and they turned out even better than I was expecting.  When we get the CD with all of the files on it, I'll post a few pictures. :)

Dress/Bridesmaid Dresses/Tuxes: Wedding Chapel Bridals, Crystal, MN

My dress was absolutely gorgeous, and the alterations department worked MAGIC on it to make it fit me perfectly.  I ended up needing a lot of alterations, right up until the Thursday before the wedding since I was an out of town bride, and they were wonderful.  Melissa was my bridal consultant, and she was wonderful throughout the entire process of picking out my dress, the girl’s dresses, the guys tuxes, and helping with our alterations.  I was the only one that needed anything done on the dress other than having cups sewn in, so obviously they’re pretty good at measuring accurately! J

Chair Covers: Illuminations by Lori Cole

We had Lori do chair covers and sashes, and they turned out so beautiful!  She was great to work with, and really transformed our venue.  I thought she was pretty reasonable at $3 per chair, which included all the set-up and tear down.

Reception Site: Minnesota Valley Country Club

Patricia was SO organized and made the entire process pain-less.  Everything went off without a hitch the day-of, and the venue was so beautiful.  The food was great, and the setting is so pretty.  We were able to take some outdoor pictures on the golf course as well, and I can’t wait to see them because I’m pretty sure they’re going to be really cool.  Minnesota Valley was much more reasonable than a lot of venues we considered, and it turned out just perfect.  I would highly recommend our venue J

DJ: Instant Request

Our DJ was Kjell, and he did a nice job.  I wasn’t hugely impressed with the DJ, but I think it was partially because our guests ended up being more on the older side, so they probably wouldn’t have danced no matter what was played.  He was very professional though, and the only real complaint I have is that we wanted to do the dollar dance and he didn’t ever announce it.  So… there was no dollar dance.  But, in the end, we really didn’t care much since we were busy chatting with guests anyways! J  I would still recommend Instant Request, as he had a huge selection of music and for the most part did everything we asked him to do.  At the time we got a GREAT deal (we booked last August during a promotion), but I have seen other girls that were quoted a lot higher than we paid- so watch for their specials!

Thanks for the reviews! Glad to hear Instant Request did a good job. I'll be sure to tell them if I want specific dances announced at ours. Congratulations!! Post pics if you have them! :)

Sounds like you had awesome vendors. I was curious, who was your stylist from Coles?

Many thanks. Although I am already married, sometimes I need updos, and it's good to know who from Cole's is good with them.
