Where did you get your men's wedding band?

And what material is it? I see Cobalt, Tungsten and Titanium are all cheaper metals. But I was originally thinking white gold, which is obviously more expensive. I budgeted for $250...

I just bought FI's. It was $30 from overstock; it's titanium.

We bought my husband's wedding band at Shane Co (he got mine from there as well and I would highly recommend them!!)  He had initially wanted tungsten but that material can't be resized or repaired down the road...he wanted those options, so we went with white gold.  We got him the biggest width of band they had, which I think was 6mm (his hands are huge, size 13...the skinnier bands just looked ridiculous on his hands) and I think it was just under $800 (with tax).  If you go down in width from 6mm, it was cheaper.

I too had budgeted $300...but he also spent WAY more on mine and it was the ring he wanted, so I made it work :)  GL!

ETA - Here's a picture of his ring.  He also got a "texture" put on the ring to make it not so shiny (they have 4 to choose from) and look more like the look he was going for.  And at any time, he can switch that texture or go back to plain...for free.  You never pay another cent at Shane Co for repairs, resizes, soldering, etc...EVER!

We got all our rings at Wedding Day.  FI's ring is tungsten carbide-it was around $250.  Tungsten doesn't scratch like white gold, and it doesn't have to be re-coated every few years.  The only downside to tungsten carbide is that it can shatter, so it  wouldn't be very good for men who work in construction or something similar . . . Plus, the color is different from other metals.  FI loves the look of tungsten carbide, but if your FI likes white gold, that may be the way to go.

We got FIs at Arthur's in St. Paul.  FI loved the look of the designs on tungsten bands, but we wanted to get something that could be resized.  I was very put-off by the idea of just buying a new wedding band if he needed a different size down the road.

We spent a long time looking for just the right band for him - I didn't budget anything, since I wanted him to look for the band that was perfect for him.  He's going to be wearing it every day for the rest of his life - I wanted him to get exactly what he wanted.

We originally got FI a white gold plain band, I think 4mm. We got it from Helzberg, but we decided to go with a Tungsten carbide. We looked in several stores to get an idea of what style, size, and width he liked, then I bought one on ebay for $30. PIB of both, looking to sell the white gold one, if you like it. FI likes the look of the tungsten, and there are a lot of online places to buy that have the same quality as the jewelers, but without the markup, so you can get the same ring that costs $250 at a store for $30-$50.

Sorry - posted before I was done.

    This is FI's band:
The design is actually much more subtle in person - we didn't even recognize it when we looked for it at the store.

We would've happily purchased from Shane Co, where my rings are from.  Their customer service is top-notch, and I've been so happy with them.  But they didn't have what he was looking for, so we had to go somewhere else.

I have not purchased it yet, but I am probably going to get one from Ebay because FI is SO particular. He wants rose gold in the ring and that is nearly impossible to find at the jewelers where everything is really traditional.

You can find a lot of cheap options online, but if you want to go to a store, Arthur's Jewelers has, by far, the biggest selection of men's bands out of all the other jewelers around town that I'd visited. I'd gone to several in my neighborhood, and didn't love anything. I went out of my way to go to Arthur's (FI bought my ring there) and am SO glad that I did. We both had great experiences shopping there, and seriously, their selection was probably four times larger than Roger's and Holland's, Helzberg, Zales, Wedding Day, etc.

Hubby got his from Kay Jewelers.  It is a white and yellow gold band - pretty simple and was about $300.00 I think.

We're probably going to go to Shane Co. for FI's band, since that's where he got mine, and we were really happy with the service and selection.  I think he wants something with multiple colors, since his band from his first marriage was like that and he thought it was really cool.  I want to go more high-end with his, but he doesn't want any diamonds or anything, but I'd like to talk him into some etching to make it more unique.  I also want it to be kind of spendy because I want to put it on credit so I can put more money toward the wedding, but mostly because FI went above and beyond with my ring, and I absolutely adore him for it.

We went with Shane Co and you can see a pic of what we ended up with in my bio. We went with white gold to match mine and for the same reasons blondie had stated. Some of those metals scare me as you cant cut through them so if there is some sort of accident you might have to get your finger cut off as they cant cut through the band. Prolly just paranoid but not something we ever wanted to have to worry about.

We were really worried about this too. FI teaches at a trade school, so he's around all sorts of machinery all day. The jewelry store (and an EMT I know) assured use they are removable though.  No, they can't be cut.  However, they are brittle, so they can be shattered easily.  All emergency workers now have the little tool on hand to remove them as well.  Just an FYI :)

He picked out an Artcarved ring, and we found the best deal at Rogers & Holland's in Southdale... and then FI changed his mind after searching Bluenile.com.... I don't think he's fully decided tho, so I haven't ordered it! (R&H ordered it so it would be in stock just in case.)

We went to Gordon's and got a Tungsten/stainless steel mix.  It's mostly tungsten.  FI is a plumber so we wanted something that could take some abuse without getting scratched up right away.  Also, those rings had a more rugged look which looked more at home on his hands than the shiny white gold ones did.  It also has a slight black design put into it around the edge with 3 small diamonds in the top.  We both really liked it.  I think it ran around $500 with engraving.

We bought DH's ring at Arthur's. They were very helpful and had a  great selection. We looked at a few other places, like Shane Co., but Arthur's was by far our favorite.

DH really liked the idea of the tungsten because it is scratch resistant. We also thought the color was nicer than platinum or titanium. At Arthur's they guarantee the ring so if you ever need a larger size it shatters they will replace it with the appropriate size, you just pay shipping.

He decided on one with a brushed platinum inlay. The platinum will scratch as he wears it, which we thought was cool since it will give the ring some character. After only 3 weeks, it already has some serious scratches and dings, which is crazy since DH doesn't do much that would scratch a ring (ie he hasn't been playing with rocks). The tungsten part is still bright, shiny, and scratch-free.

FI picked out our matching polished white gold bands from Continental Diamond. Totally plain, with no detailing at all aside from the engraving inside. My e-ring (will be a right-hand ring once we're married) is platinum and while I love that it doesn't have to be re-dipped, I don't love how easily it gets a patina, so the white gold was a good fit for us.

I got FI ring at DJ Bitzan is St. Cloud, MN. My FI and I both went to school with the owners daughter. The owner was the one that helped us which impressed me right off the bat but he also recognized my FI. Which flattered him. FI is very go local and not chain (although he got mine at Shane Co. haha) Anywho back to topic. His is white gold but it looks like a golf ball. (I forget the name of the texturing or finish) He has super small hands (smaller than mine) like 7.5 haha. He also went with a really small width. Joked that he didn't want to nage him LoL.  I didn't have a budget( I guess I didn't want to spend more than FI spent on me) but his ending up costing me $500 this was after a discount from the owner. (orig. $875)

Judging by the other posts it looks like your budget is really doable! Good Luck! :-)

I won't go back to Shane Company as they were incredibly rude to me when I went to look for rings for myself.  It was as if they couldn't wait to get rid of me. I decided then and there I would not go to a chain and I'll stick with a local jeweler. I am thinking about rings at Wixon and at Goulds, both have great customer service. He's an electrician so to be honest he will barely concede to wearing a ring - too dangerous. He cannot, nor will I let him, wear a ring to work or when he is in his shop.

We got our bands (and my engagement ring) at Continental Diamonds.  FI works with metal and liked the look and color of tungsten.  The customer service is great and we were very happy with all the rings!
