Need advice re: DIY bulk flowers - Sams Club, Costco, etc.

Hi everyone,

I'm going to order flowers in bulk online and put the arrangements together myself. What have you experienced or heard about different companies? I've heard that Sams and Costco are both pretty good. I'm interested in something with just a bit more variety, though (I'm looking at different kinds of roses, e.g. garden roses). I really like the variety on FiftyFlowers.com but the website never seems to work, so that makes me really nervous. Any other good ideas?

Sorry if I've missed a similar discussion somewhere... I tried looking through the post archives but there are so many about flowers!

  • I DIYd from Sams and was really happy with what we ended up with. The flowers came in great shape and were exactly what I ordered. My only complaint about the flowers is that some of my green roses were more yellowish and some were darker with pink tinges on the tips, but I guess it was like getting an extra type for free. Sams is a very reputable company and they were good to work with.

Try Market Flowers at the Mpls. Farmer's Market.  You can order what you want, you use their space to make up your bouquets and arrangements and then they store everything in their coolers until you pick them up.  The people are very nice to work with, the flowers reasonably priced and the mess stays there.  It is perfect to have everything stored there until it's time for the wedding.
