Ceremony Site

Does anyone know of a good site for just a ceremony.  I would consider an outdoor site as long as it had an indoor back-up.  We already have someone to officiate and a reception site, just need a site for the ceremony.

Thanks!

We're doing ours at the Cowles Conservatory at the Walker, but you might be able to use the sculpture garden, too, since the permit covers both.  Cowles is indoors, and everything else around it is beautifully landscaped and would be lovely for a wedding.  The permit is $500 for a 3-hour block.  The down side is that the block of time has to be either 9-12 or 12-3 for ceremony only.

The Millennium Hotel worked with us and did ceremony only.  We had to compomise on an earlier time in the day though.  Pics in bio.

What part of the cities are you looking at?  Where is your reception located?

The Marsh (in Minnetonka) has an awesome outdoor patio that overlooks the marsh area and an indoor backup location.  We were going to use them but decided to hold everything at one location.

The Eagan community center is another option and I think it's only $35/hour to rent the space.  We looked into it, but decided it was too far to drive compared to our reception venue (ECC was already booked for a reception).

    Good Luck!

Ooo I might have some ideas. We just did this search 4m ago!
Which area of the TC do you prefer?
How many people will attend the ceremony?

Centennial Lakes in Edina has a pavillion/amphitheatre for ceremonies.  It's outside, yet covered, and only $250!

Our favorite spot from our search was the terrace at the Walker Art Center.  Didn't care for the "backup" indoor location tho, and it is *PriCEY*.

The Como conservatory has beautiful venues for a ceremony - Japanese garden, indoor greenhouse, etc.  The indoor site looks especially nice at night.  The downside is that it's standing-room only.

And lastly, if I weren't so fearful of getting mud on my gown (at the beginning of the day!), we would have chosen the Mpls Sculpture Garden - 2 of the four hedged-off garden sections would be great for a ceremony, plus the area w/the cherry of course.
