Why are you/did you marry your FI/DH?

I admit I have a slightly ulterior motive- our pastor asked us to email him a marriage mission statement, and reasons why we are marrying each other. I have a ton of reasons myself, just wondering what sort of things would be appropriate to share at our wedding ceremony. So any insight on that I would appreciate as well.

He really is my bestfriend. He knows me better than anyone else (except family). I can tell him anything, my hopes n dreams, my fears, my regrets, my failures. He also makes me strive to be an even better human being. He is the most loyal person I have ever met and I can trust him with my heart. He is also pretty handsome if I do say so myself.

He really is my better half. He is everything I am not, and keeps me grounded, and lets me be me. We're each other's best friend, honestly. We spend a lot of our time together and talk about truly everything together. He makes me feel more loved and cared for than I have ever felt, I feel like I could burst with all of his love and support for me. He is also very driven, all of his friends and family tell him he could do anything for a living and be successful, he started his own business at 15 for goodness sakes! I trust him with my whole heart, and know he is always there for me. God really did answer my prayers. I am blessed with an extremely good guy who is perfect for me in every way

I agree with the best friend thing. For us, we were best friends for almost a year before we even started dating. We were so close that I knew I wanted him in my future wedding. I FINALLY realized that was going to happen.. but as my groom :-)

Seriously though, this is the best relationship I've ever been in. We rarely fight, and when we do, we can't stay made at each other. I couldn't imagine my life without him!

I'm marrying my FI because I don't have to explain anything to him about me, he gets me 1000%. He plays several roles in my life. I knew from the first date that he was something special. My friends and family confirmed that I was right by embracing with with open arms and loving him as much as I do. He's made me want to be a better person and together, we can do anything.

I'm opinionated, outspoken, stubborn, compulsively early to things, fiercely independent, and an oldest child which shines through most prominently in my desire to lead the pack, messy but organized at the same time and much prefer sweats or jeans to heels and dresses. I married DH because he never asked me to be anything but who I am for him and loved me for it anyways. And he has a cute butt.  :-P

FI really encourages me be the best person I'm capable of being.  He's such a hard worker, but he really knows how to have fun.  He laughs at my ridiculous humor when other people have simply looked at me like I'm crazy.  He's also dashingly handsome and romantic in his own little ways.  Basically, we were made for each other.

I am marrying my FI because he is my best friend and other half.  We balance eachother out so well and work so well together.  I am still head over heels for him after 5 years and each day I fall more in love.  It puts a smile on my face even when I just think about him.  He makes me feel comfortable, safe and happy when we are together. Everything about him is exactly what I was looking for in a man and I never thought that I would find someone so perfect for me.  I am so excited that I get to spend the rest of my life with someone who is so special.

I'm marrying my FI because he loves me for who I am.  Because he's my best friend & the one I can tell anything to.  Because, like Whitty, I'm opinionated, outspoken, stubborn, compulsively early to things, fiercely independent, & he's able to handle it all!  (Sorry to steal yours Whitty, but it was so fitting!)  = )  Because he is the best thing that ever happened to me & I can't imagine my life without him!

From our first date forward, we just fit. We quickly became best friends and fell in love. Yes, it's been difficult to deal with his past (divorce/military/kids) but I've never had a doubt in my mind that God brought us together. Unlike my last relationship, he loves me for who I am and has never asked me to change anything (other than growing my hair out to see how it looks!) about myself. He made a lot of mistakes in his past but now he's all the more mature and wiser. We can be goofy together and laugh about stupid things like farting, and we can have deep coversations and pray together. Like a PP said, he is everything I'm not. We very much compliment each other and support each other. 17 days baby!

My FI is my best friend.  We have been through great times together, and some really rough times together and each has only made our relationship stronger.  I know that no matter what life throws at us, my FI will be there loving and supporting me. (and I the same for him).  He loves me in spite of and even more for my quirks and oddities and though he teases me, he has never judged me.  I can talk to him about anything and he fully supports me in my dreams and encourages me to keep going for and doing what I want.  I love him more than I can express and I can't wait to marry him in just 2 days!!!

I am getting married to my FI for many reasons that the rest of you have stated.  He has my best interest at heart and always puts me first.  I've never met someone that can make me laugh as much as he can.  He is my confidant and best friend.  Me being an only child never thought someone would be able to deal with me being spoiled and wanting everything my way as well as being a horrible sharer.  But he come to the plate and doesn't care about that stuff.  He makes fun of me for being spoiled and whatnot but its all in good humor.  My family loves him (sometimes I think more than me) and we just complete each other.  I can't imagine a night where I don't hear "Almost Paradise" being sung to me before I fall asleep. (yes he sings to me and its BAD!!! LOL) That's why I am marrying my FI and those 450 days cannot get here fast enough!

I am marrying my FI because he is my best friend, he is always there for me. I care for him more than I have anyone else in my life. He is sweet and can always make me laugh. He makes me feel comfortable and still gives me butterflys. When I look at him I cant help but smile and every day I fall more in love with him.

Also he can handle my crazy moods and emotions and he keeps me grounded. Im the dreamer and hes the realist.

I'm marrying FI because he is truly my very best friend. He is my companion, the person who stands with me when times are tough and helps me fight through them. He is the person that I would sacrifice the most for, and he would do the same for me.

I married H because he's my best friend.  I'm loud, crass, control-freaky, messy, and I have a habit of taking on too much of everything.  He's the exact opposite of me, and he's never once asked me to change a thing about myself, including losing weight.  He loves me exactly as I am, and I love him exactly as he is, including every grey hair on his head.  He's far from perfect, but so am I, but our imperfections work well together.  He's my lobster and I couldn't imagine being with anyone else.

ETA:  he's also an atheist and a liberal, which are REALLY important to me.  I don't ever want to have to argue politics with my partner, even though I'd always win.

We fit together. From the beginning, it just felt right. Like PPs have said -- we're best friends that can share absolutely anything. I can't imagine not being with him. And his butt is cuter than Mr. Witty's!
