Sheet cake

In order to save money, I want to have the little layer cake and serve the guests sheet cake.  We have not done any tastings yet, but I was wondering if anyone had gotten a filled sheet cake from a grocery store bakery and what you thought of it. My mom thinks that it is a perfect plan, but I am not sure.

Costco has REALLY good cake for grocery store cake. my fave is a strawberry mousse or something like that and their prices are good too.

yup, we had a 1/2 a sheet cake from costco at our AHR (at Home Reception), and loved it!!  and really can no beat $16.99!!

Ditto Costco! Their cake is FAR better than one might imagine!

We did costco for my mom's suprise party and it was delicious! For $16.95  a cake, you cannot beat that anywhere!

I think that sounds like a wonderful plan! However, make sure that your venue allows outside food to be brought in like that, I know that I had to go with certain cake places that they had a contract with.

Thanks ladies! I will double check with the venue. They said we could choose our own bakery as long as they were licensed, so fingers crossed!
