First appointment with a photographer

Hi guys,
I am having my first appointment with a photographer on Friday. When I talked to him on the phone, he said to come with questions. Can you guys help me with what important questions I should be asking? I am terrible with remembering to ask the right questions!

Will you get the copyrights to your images?
What is all included in the different packages?
When is the final payment due?
If something happens and you are not able to be there on the day of the wedding is it your responsibility to find another photographer? and if so, who? **FTR it better be there responsibility--IMO**
Will another photographer also come to take pictures?

I know there's more but that's all I can think of for right now

Definitely see if you get a CD/DVD of all images with printing rights. For me, that's one of the most important things. When I got my senior pictures done in high school, my mom went with my photographer mostly because of that. It was rare at the time, but now it's pretty common and IMO should be the norm!

If you haven't already, ask to look at a full wedding album. Most websites will feature the photographer's best work. I like to look at a full album to see if all photos are as great, or if they got lucky with a few.

See how much editing they are going to do and how much extra it is if it's something you want. Some photographers will just give you raw photos, maybe a few edited, and others will edit every photo. It's something I'm interested in because I'd prefer at least some editing on most photos - cropping, some B&W, red eye reduction, and some touching up here and there, but I also don't want them to be so edited that they look weird.

Also see if they can deviate from their packages (unless everything in the package is what you want). I like photographers that work with you on how long they'll be there, what kind of album you get if you want one, adding on a second photographer, etc. And see what kinds of things they might be able to cut out to save money if that's a concern (like an album if you don't want one).

I'm really picky about photography so I'm trying to think of more things I'd ask. I'll let you know if I think of more!
