Help! I can't decide on a wedding dress!

So, I am down to two choices... I know you are just supposed to "know" any words of encouragement?  I'm not posting pics here, as I want to come to my own conclusions :) but any thoughts about how you decided, what helped you?

I'm surprised it's so hard! I might just go back and visit both of them again - maybe that will help me choose.

I am picking between one at the Wedding Shoppe and one at Heartstrings Bridal - any thoughts about those two shops?

I had a very similar experience.  I fell in love with 2 dresses at two different shops.  I waited about 2 weeks and then made back to back appointments at the two shops, literally about 2 hours apart.   I kept both dresses on for longer than my original try and it was the only dress I would let them put on me.  This also helped me understand how they would look and feel when they were worn a little longer.  Ultimately when I put the dresses on back to back, there was no question on the one I wanted.  It made the decision very easy for me.  Plus I felt one was much more comfortable and fit my ultimate vision better.  Good luck.

bring people with you and go visit them both back to back.  Trust me, having people there will help make the decision easier.  I could NOT decide until I brought my sisters, mom, MIL and SIL with me and then suddenly it was an easy choice.  They LOVED one of them so much more and it made me realize that I loved one more than the other all along, I just needed it confirmed!  GOOD LUCK!

Thank you!!  I will go back!

Unfortunately, all of those people are out of town for me - except my future sister in law will actually be visiting so I will have her go with me.

Good luck! I think going back and trying both of them on again will help!

Also, I'm wondering what you think about the designers - one is Maggie Sottero and one is Pronovias/ White One. I read the book "Bridal Bargains" and they gave Maggie Sottero a bad rating for quality/ value.

Any thoughts about the two designers?

My dress is a Maggie Sottero, I haven't ordered it yet but I put a deposit down on it and I love it.  I guess I hadn't heard any bad reviews...

K so this might not be what you want to hear but this is my opinion....if you are that undecided you havent found your dress yet. I would keep looking.

For a while I was undecided but really liked this one dress. It was so beautiful and looked great on me but for some reason I was hesitating. I really wanted to just know and felt like maybe I was just a bride that wouldnt get that feeling that i KNEW that that was my dress so I began to talk myself into getting that one. I was almost there but went shopping one last time and found MY dress and I knew right away. There was no, oh should I get this one or which do I like better. I didnt think I would just know but I did get to that point. It took a lot of searching but I am SO glad I waited and found the perfect dress. I read posts about girls that have dress envy or second thoughts about their dress and I have never gotten that feeling because I was sure I found my dress. When I put it on I knew I never wanted to put on a different wedding dress ever again (and I haven't :)).

As far as the shops - I went to both and would say both are fine. I ended up finding my dress at Bellas Bridal Boutique but then called around and bought the sample from the Wedding Shoppe so I got a great deal. So just know that you dont have to buy the dress from the shop you find it at. Feel free to call around to see which shop will give you the best deal.

I didn't try on any Maggie Sottero, so I can't comment on that dress, but my dress is a Pronovias. I LOVE the fabric that Pronovias uses. I have a really simple style dress, but the fabric makes it luxurious. I've seen many dresses where the fabric looks cheaper, and you won't get that with a Pronovias. GL! I'd take the PP's advice. Go back and try them on back to back, if you're still unsure, keep looking.

I would say don't wait too long to go back and try the dresses on. I was torn between two dresses so I was going to schedule back-to-back fittings at the different shops and when I called to make an appointment for the dress at the wedding shoppe the dress I wanted to try on had been sold... So I couldn't try it on again. So I was left with ordering it without trying it again or moving on. I ended up going to see the other dress and it was the one. Once I put it on with my mom with me I knew. The other dress would have worked and I did love it but it wasn't me, it was very traditional, I am not traditional.

</div><div>THIS! This was exactly my experience. I haven't second guessed the dress I finally found since the day I tried it on (and I tried on a LOT of dresses). That does make it more time consuming for you, though. :)

My main criteria when shopping was budget, so I didn't go to many bridal shops. I spent a day with one friend at the Albertville outlet mall, then a bunch of random shops at Arbor Lakes, and ended up at the David's Bridal in Maple Grove. I had on a dress that I liked, but I was kind of on the fence because I'd wanted to check out Macy's, Nordstrom, etc first. I was thinking about having them hold it for me for a day or so, and as I was turning around to go back to my dressing room to put my regular clothes back on, U2's "Beautiful Day" came on the radio. Now, FI had told me that his original plan was to propose to me the day of the U2 show in Minneapolis, which got postponed, so he did it on a random Saturday. Anyway, hearing that song made me realize that I could be wearing pajamas at our wedding, and it would still be beautiful because I'd be marrying the love of my life. I hadn't been remotely emotional while shopping, but it just made me cry. It's kinda cheesy, but I couldn't give them my money for the dress fast enough.
