NWR: no heat curls! headband method. [PIP]

Seriously ladies... I was a huge sceptic - but it works!!!!! Here are my pics for a little how-to. I'm thrilled and will be doing this a ton. :D

Step 1: Dry, just washed hair. Just take a shower and let your hair air dry :)

Step 2: Divide your hair (you can do it w/ just one band, but I have a ton of hair so I did two for more depth/volume) into two sections. Top half and bottom. Then tie up your top half and with the bottom put the elastic (no-slide) headband across your forhead and just below the parted section. Then start tucking the hair back into the band all around.

Step 3: put another band across your forhead on top of the first and the rest your hair (hippy style). Be sure to have hair around the crown loose. Then repeat and tuck hair around band.

Step 4: Go to bed! :)
Step 5: In the morning, un-twist your hair from the bands and voila!!!!

you may need to un-crimp a few pieces, but this is actually how mine turned out. Remember, the smaller the sections you tuck, the bouncier your curl. :)

HAVE FUN! :)

Thank you! I've  been seeing people talk about this on a few boards and just couldn't figure out what they were talking about. Looks great-and I definitely want to try! Guess I'll need to stop and pick up some headbands! Wink

Also saw this on Pinterest. :) I wish I had longer hair and maybe it would work better.

Neat!  If my hair wasn't so baby fine and didn't look gross after sleeping on it (I've never been a girl to shower at night, my hair looks too greasy) I would def try it.  I love how yours turned out!

I tried this a couple weeks ago also and it came out pretty well. I should probably try to two headband method you used though. I have a lot of thick hair so it didn't turn out real well. I also need to get the no-slip headbands. Did you use any product in your hair? I didn't and so the curls kind of fell out throughout the day when I did this, does anyone have a good product they used that kept the curls in longer?

I agree with Shan that if you still have questions there are great videos out there. There is also another way of doing this using a sock... as see on Pinterest... I am always looking for new ways to do my hair that get me out the door faster so I can sleep longer.

That looks awesome! I have really long hair and never know what to do with it, but that looks really simple! Time to buy a headband!

ETA-- found one under the sink! I'm so excited to try this! I kinda like looking like a hippy... This would also make a fab halloween costume =)
