Almost done!! More Checks!

Went to a Wedding Expo today to finalize my last couple vendors. (Cake and Decorations)

-- Got an informal quote on my Cake and its within my Budget! Super Pumped! Picture in my Bio --- Calling tomorrow to set up a formal consultation!

-- Ended up geting a steal of a deal of Chair Covers and Sashes. The Women that owns the company is awesome! I love small business vs. Big!! She gave my Ivory Chair Covers at $1.65/chair and $.75/Satin Sash. We were looking for Table Runners and Corrine gave us the Idea of ordering extra Sashes. I saw how it looks today and seriously I couldn't tell the difference! Super pumped! She is in the works of putting our contract together.

-- I ended up stumbling upon a vendor to do our decorating (drapes and Head table back drop) waiting for a quote from her. Granted its within Budget... I AM DONE WITH BOOKING VENDORS!!


Obviously there are still Wedding Projects must small. Now I can devote all my Wedding energy to Invites!! YYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhh!!!

If we are talking about the same Corinne, you must be working with Memory Makers Decor too?! I am doing chair covers/sashes/ceiling drapery/photo guest book services through them! She is super helpful and nice I love small companies too, seeing as I am a co-owner of one lol

Congrats on the checks!!! And if you like the way that I made my pocket invites...I would be more than willing to help you out with them! I am actually making some for some friends of mine (as their wedding gift!) so I am constantly making them lol

Iboerner: Yep, I am using Making Memors Decor. Today, I changed from organza to Satin so she gave me a $.10 discount on each sash. She is really eager to get work which I appreciate. We may use her for drapes and lighting but I really like Mary from Arch Angels and her headtable backdrops. (www.archangelsdecor.com)  Corrine has never done a head table as big as mine where Mary has. Mary had some pictures from a wedding she just did on 8/28 that I actually saw (I was in another wedding and we stayed at the Kelly Inn) She also told me she is doing a Wedding at the Kelly Inn on Oct 9th and I was free to stop by and check it out.

As for the Invites. I love your Pocket Folds. I checked them out a while back. Our Pocket Folds are going to the other direction if that makes sense. Like this one: http://tiny.cc/ojyyo
If you know how to do these I'd love to hear. I have given my mom the pocket folds job haha! I am working on making a template/design in Photo Shop.

Congrats on all the checks!  That is so exciting.  I really hope that I can fit chair covers and sashes in my budget - I think they are so pretty!

I checked out the cake photo in your bio.  That is gorgeous!  Very, very elegant.

SaintPaulJess - I originally didn't but reworked it to fit as our venue's chairs are hideous! LoL Depending on your # its very doable. It is also something small that adds alot- IMO! -- I am super excited about our cake. The Bottom 2 layers on ours will be fake with the top for the WP. The baker gives us a 15% discount on all the fake layers which helps! Total its going to be $300 because of all the piping and detail in the middle. But their sheet cakes are super cheap so all in all we are at $400 after deliver and tax. (for 275 ppl)

Wow! Those pictures from Arch Angels are stunning! They look like they do very nice work! How is their pricing?

Those pocketfolds are a bit more difficult than mine were. Basically I would order your paper (from Anchor Paper or somewhere like that) pre-cut to a size about 7"x8" and then that end piece about 10"x4" - so it is shaped like an "L" if that makes any sense (all one piece obviously). If they can pre-cut it like that then they shouldn't be too hard to make. All you will have to do from there is fold/score/tape Hope your mom is up to the challenge! Let me know if you need/want any more help! I like making them!

Yay for all the checks!  What a great feeling to be done with vendors!  I agree with lboerner--the decorations are so pretty!  Chair covers definitely do dress up ugly chairs, and are so worth it if you have to cover them up!  We decided (at least for now) against chair covers.  In the famous words of my FFIL: "would you rather have chair covers or would you rather have another keg for your guests?"  lol (we use this quote a lot!) :-) 

Vendor checks for me: wedding & reception venue, photographer, DJ, flowers, wedding dress, cake, FI's suit & tie, wedding rings

Checks to get done this week: BM dresses & officiant

Yes we do. Corborns for both the Cake and Flowers. I am OCD and plan way too much so don't feel too behind. Although I don't know when your wedding is. I have told the other girls that I am doing my Invites myself so I wanted to get the vendors booked so I can devote my energy and time to that massive project.
