Forepaughs

I have been looking into having my ceremony and reception here.  Just wondering if anyone else has had experience with this place.  Pictures/Advise.  TIA

I was originally going to have my reception at Forepaugh's with our ceremony at Irvine Park for our May 2008 wedding. They ended up cancelling our reception on us 8 weeks before our wedding-the day we were going to send out our invites. They have new management now but I still have a bitter taste from them leaving us up in the air, along with the other events that were booked and got cancelled. Their food is amazing and the building has a lot of history but one of the downsides for a reception is depending on how large your group is the guests are in somewhat separate areas. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal to me when we originally booked our reception there but after having our reception at The Lexington I realized that I really liked everyone being in the same room and feeling a part of everything. The large upper level deck is nice to use for passed appetizers if the weather cooperates.  Good luck!

I was actually turned off of Forepaughs because of the menu, I had never been there and was nervous about the people in our families liking something new and different. I decided more traditional meal options would be best for our guest list.

I second The Lexington as that's where we're having our reception as well. I don't know how many people you're inviting but some smaller nearby ceremony sites we looked at were The Landmark Center (they have smaller courtrooms available) and Woodbury Central Park (where we ended up deciding on).

We are having a luncheon reception so the prices are a lot cheaper. I have had lunch at The Lex and the portions are still generous and won't leave you wishing you had more on your plate. Not to mention the phenomanal service I have received everytime I have been there.

I went to Forepaughs for my high school prom and I just wasn't that impressed with the food or service. That was a long time ago though! I would make an appointment and go check it out to see if it fits your taste. Good luck with your search!

The site is beautiful, and I love the food.  However I was concerned about everone feeling involved.  I considered doing the ceremony at Irvine park right down the way.  My parents eat dinner there often and it is one of the favorties of my dads old boss.  I would think that if you are ok with being seperated form your guests then it would be fantastic.
