When the stress gets to you...

So, I consider myself a fairly low-maintenance bride, but every now and then the stress and all those little red alarm clocks on The Knot Checklist get to me! That's when I have a bit of what I call a wedding freak-out.

Does anyone have any tips or advice on how you got through your own wedding freak-outs?

Push ups. Great for your arms and back! lol. The best piece of advice I had from friends: The fewer people's opinions you ask for the fewer headaches you will have.

Hang in there! WE will get through this!

I was awful and ate when I was stressed. Oreos got me through the first 6 months of planning, then I just gave up and gave in to the stress, opting for massages when it got too overwhelming. But I'm kind of a sick freak and thrive on stress.

LOVE THIS! And I can vouche for it, too! I need to keep reminding myself of this...after all, it is OUR wedding. So why get stressed over someone's opinion? I had a break down the other day, as a matter of fact. Someone reminded me that at the end of the day, all that matters is you are marrying the man of your dreams. What's the worst that can happen? :)

Ha - I think we all have those moments! I am in the middle of a freak-out right now because I am just hitting the 6 month mark and feel like I have soooo much left to do!

i need to keep our wedding plans under wraps more often. i was so excited when we booked our venue and photog that i told everyone who would listen. for all future decsions, i will NOT be doing that.

when the stress gets to me, i take time to watch a movie with mr.owl. we love old movies and it's such a happy, take-me-away kind of activity for me.

also try a wedding planning break if you can. i promised mr.owl that after we booked the tier one decisions (for us this was the church, venue, caterer, photographer) then we would take a break for a month. we've been on that break for about a week or so and it's really doing me good. i'm sure the mr. appreciates it too.

Honestly, sometimes coming onto this board and, often, onto the July 2011 board is super helpful.  On the July 2011 board, we vent, a lot, especially once people didn't know how to RSVP.  But, just sharing it can help sometimes.  I would sometimes start a post, and then not post it and feel better because I had taken the time to just write it out.....and sometimes that helps you see it is a stupid stress or vent.

Also, yoga and ice cream help :)

My pups are great too, anytime they think I'm about to cry, they are all over me and won't get off! It is too cute (seriously a 65 and an 88 pound dog will feel the need to sit on my lap......you can't help but laugh at that!!!)  Sometimes, you need to remove yourself from the situation, watch a comedy, or if you really feel the need for a good cry (that you can do under the pretenses of something else that's not WR) watch the Notebook, or other sob story.  Lean on your FI, mom, BMs, and family.  They can be a great help.

    Good luck.

I learned the hard way to just stop asking opinions... Too many led me to actually pick bridesmaids dresses I don't even like that much (awful I know).. I am starting to freak out since Friday is my 3-month mark so thanks to everyone for the tips - I'll have to try push-ups!  I have always run or eaten chocolate when I'm stressed, but my usual go-to's aren't even working for the wedding!

Thanks ladies! I think the fact that my 3-month mark is approaching in July is what did it.

when i'm stressed I go for a run. which is happening alot since the wedding is 2 months away and my maid of honor hasnt talked to me or helped with anything..by the way she is my sister in law(married to my brother) and I've been taking my dog on runs with me and that seems to help!!
