Norwegian wedding crown

I was just wondering if any of you had rented a Norwegian wedding crown from Ingebretsen's. I've been planning on doing this ever since I found out you could rent it for the wedding. My wedding isn't until April 2012, but I was wondering how far ahead I should reserve it and was wondering if any of you had any experience with it.

hmmm... I am Norwegian enough to eat lutefisk and enjoy it, but I am not sure I am Norwegian enough to wear a crown.  Really interesting piece of culture though.

I would much rather wear a crown than make my guests deal with lutefisk! I'm half Norwegian/half German, and my wedding dress will be a German dirndl, so I feel like I need to represent the Norwegian side, and veils aren't my thing. FI and his family will be in kilts, so it should be interesting.

<div>That is actually really interesting.  I was reading some stuff online and it sounds like wedding crowns were something that were passed down from generation to generation so maybe that is something that you want to purchase.  Good luck!</div>

Sounds like a really interesting idea.  I checked them out on the site, and they're pretty small - good to hang a veil from.

<div>I actually just came across this vendor on Etsy who has tons of Norwegian style jewlerly for sale, at reasonable prices: <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/103327157/lovely-traditional-norwegian-solje-style" rel="nofollow">http://www.etsy.com/listing/103327157/lovely-traditional-norwegian-solje-style</a>

I also believe some of the Norwegian-American and Swedish-American museums and churces around the country have rental crowns, I found a bunch when I was looking for one.</div><div>
