Kendra (Hair Stylist)
She's my normal hair stylist, and she works out of Second Glance in Bexley. She's so great and she did a wonderful job. She came to the Union to us, along with another hair stylist from Second Glance to get us all done. Love her!
Alfred Angelo (Wedding Gown and Bridesmaids Dresses)
I bought my wedding gown at the AA store in Baltimore, MD, since it was before they opened the one here. But, I did go into the store here shopping with my BMs. The staff was friendly and helpful. At one point, we were done, then we saw another dress (on another set of BMs), and our associate told us to just wait and when they took it off we could try it on. She helped us with accessories as well. Very nice. One of my tips for wedding gown shopping is to try to go during the week. Things are less busy, especially at a place like Davids or AA, and you get more attention.
Monica Gwaltney (Alterations)
Monica was very good and very efficient. She has cups that she puts in that made me comfortable not wearing a bra (which is something to say, because I am a bit busty). However, my bustle did come un-done by the end of the night (which I hear is common), though, I only had one hook, so as soon as it was done, it was done (though, it really wasn't a big deal, I just used the little hanger hook and carried it around, and it was within the last half-hour to hour of the reception). Monica also hemmed up two of my mother's dresses. One was not exactly how my mother wanted it done, but the other, which was a tricky dress, was done very well.
Jos. A. Bank (Tuxedo Rental – Easton) The day we went in, they were super busy, but it gave us the time to look over all the tuxedo stuff and we pretty much had things picked out by the time we sat to talk to the guy. They have a lot of options. I was told that when they came in and the boys went to try them on, one of the shirts were too long, but they took care of it at that time.
Side note: We went to Men's Warehouse that day as well, they were not busy and pretty much acted as if we were annoying them. Also, we were talking to them about a specific tux, and I asked how much are the tuxes, to which she responds, "Well, we start at $69.99." Then, I asked about the one we had been talking to her about, and she said "Oh, this is going to be about $160." Oh, ok, you could have said that to begin with. We thought Jos. A. Bank would be much more expensive, but they were about the same price for what we wanted.
Diamond Cellar (Engagement Ring, DH Wedding Band)
DH loved his experience at Diamond Cellar when purchasing my e-ring. He said they treated him the same way that they treated the people that were looking at much more expensive jewelry, and they were personal. He was able to take a look at each diamond and really analyze it under the microscopes. When we went to pick out wedding bands, it was an obvious choice to go back. We went many times, and the lady that helped us always remembered us and it was just very personal. DH was happy with his band.
Kay Jewelers (My wedding band)
Unfortunately, I was super picky about what my wedding band would look like and Diamond Cellar didn't have it. Kay had something that I was looking for, and it was well priced.
