Hey ladies! Has anyone been to or had a wedding at hte Nicollet Island Pavillion? I'm venue/ceremoney "shopping" like crazy right now :-)

My roommate is having her reception there--she's super excited about it. It looks really nice (and so pretty by the river!)

It's a beautiful site.  The minimums were a little pricey for me and the space was too large for what we were looking for.  But I loved the site!  I've heard great things about people who have had their weddings there.

I have attended a wedding there. It was beautiful! It was nice to be able to have use of indoor and outdoor space. The set up inside was nice and I liked that the bar was off to the side. This way there was room to congrate near the bar and/or if the bar was busy the line wasn't going into tables or onto the dancefloor as I have seen at other weddings.

I met with them, as they were one of my top 2 choices, and it is WAY convenient to our ceremony site...like walking distance. There were some "communication issues" with the lady who showed us the site. She was kind of rude to my father, which I didn't appreciate. That was pretty much the deal breaker for me. Then, a few weeks after I had let them know that we were not going to go with them, I got a call from someone else from the company asking how our plans were going and if we needed anything. I had to tell her again that we had chosen another site, and that I had told the other woman that. She seemed pretty confused as if that was the first she had heard of it...sooo yeah.

Anyways, I agree, the premiums were a bit much, and there were a lot of extra costs and little details here and there that we would have to deal with. In the end, we ended up going with Windows on MN because they're package is a lot simpler and everything is included...no extra fees. It was a bit more expensive, but worth it for the piece of mind for us since we are planning everything from out of town. Its also really convenient because the Marquette Hotel is right there, which is where we have our room block.

Anyways, I know others have had great experiences with NIP, so I encourage you to check it out and see for yourself!

We're having our wedding there this July. We loved the location on the river, and the space is absolutely beautiful. Nicole, the site coordinator, has been super helpful with everything we need, and my emails are always returned within a day. If there's anything specific that you'd like to know, feel free to ask!

This was one of the 4 sites we visited, and I also did not like the communication.  She had a hard time telling us what things were going to cost... you have to get a security guard for the entire reception, and she said "ohh I think its about 15 to 25 dollar an hour for so many hours"  and she gave is different prices for the same thing during the meeting.  Also I was annoyed that she had sent costs for entree packages, and I did not print them out (it was a few dozen pages!) and she didnt have a copy.  Also I really dont like the forrest green duct work.

Also- hopefully they have your date available!  We were looking for June 11, 2011, and that day was already booked!

On the plus side, the location is to die for!! it was a tough choice- but we chose the Calhoun Beach Club!

    Good luck!
