Supper dark purple BM dresses?

One of my BMs is getting married two weeks after me and I am also in her wedding. She wants BM dresses that are very dark purple - almost black. I guess she has looked aroud and even had a shop tell her that she has to change the color she wants because she wont find it.

So I thought I would come to the awesome knotties to see if you know of any shops or designers that carry very dark purple BM dresses.

That was my original vision!  Seriously, I looked everywhere for that color.  (I ended up changing because I fell absolutely in love with light pink, of course that changed too...)

The best thing I could find were Jim Hjelm's Satin Faced Taffeta dresses in Plum.  They are pricey but GORGEOUS and what I liked to call "emo purple".

Other companies might have taffeta dresses that color too.  They are normally fairly iridescent and look black is some lights, deep purple in others.

I second Ms.Ricka, the Jim Hjelm Plum was also what I thought of when I read your question. A friend of mine just wore one in a wedding last month and the color looked great (and dark) in the photos I've seen.

My bridesmaid dresses are dark purple.  I don't if its as dark as she wants.  The designer is Mori Lee.  The bridesmaid dresses i go are now discontined.  I got them at the wedding chapel in Crystal.

Davids Bridal also has two darker shades of purple called Lapis and Plum.  I know its not as dark as "almost" black but at least you know there is always another option for her.

Who says it needs to be a BM dress?!  try searching Nordstroms or Macy's.  especially now, with the winter season you are bound to find those deep shades.

Also try Ann Taylor (online) - MrsKizdoodle got her BM dresses there and are that shade, though this was a couple years back.
