Centerpieces

I need everyone's opinion.

So, I met with Lacey from Intuitive Blooms on Sunday and she just sent me her estimate and a few suggestions this morning. I'm very excited about her prices, and I feel like she really understands my vision... so unless I am wowed beyond belief by Christine's Floral Touch (who I'm meeting with today...) I will likely book her.

But anyway, we talked about a few concepts for the reception centerpieces and I'm now super confused.

I really love the look of the submerged orchid and floating candle combo... but after talking with Lacey I'm worried that it's too much of a contemporary look for the overall feel of my wedding. While she didn't necessarily try to dissuade me from them, she didn't seem entirely convinced they were the right look.

The ceremony and reception are at the Historic Courthouse in Stillwater, which is very elegant but simple. My gown has a definite old-fashioned vibe to it. For food, we're probably going with Brasa Catering, which is pretty much high-end comfort food. So, add all of these things together, and the prominent vibe is a kind of simple, vintage elegance... and I LOVE that concept. I just don't know if the submerged centerpieces fit with that.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

The two words I would use to describe submerged orchids are simple and elegant. I guess they aren't really "traditional" centerpieces, but I don't think that will be a problem. Are you planning on doing those for all of the centerpieces, or will you have different CPs on some tables?

First, I would say that those centerpieces would look wonderful in any setting.  You could always pick orchids that are less vibrant in color, for a more sophisticated look.

Second, if you love them, it doesn't matter if they perfectly match the feel of the reception site.  Go with what you love!!

You might me surpise by Christine.  I am using her.  I thought I knew who I was getting before I meet her.  Plus her prices were lower then the other two i met with beofre her.

Um yeah. I just got done with my consultation with Christine and I am SOOOOO torn. We'll see how the estimates compare... but I really like both her and Lacey. I feel like Lacey's a little funkier and edgier, but they both have a really strong grasp of what I'm looking for.

Christine made a few more suggestions for substitutions and such than Lacey did... but that wasn't a bad thing. I just feel like they have very different ideas of how to make different flowers look good together.

This is shaping up to be the hardest wedding-related decision I'll have to make.

Ahh no, this post makes me worried now seeing as I'm the most indecisive person ever, I'm meeting with Jen from Simply Stated Elegance tomorrow and I almost may not even meet with anyone else if all goes well.  Just cause it will more than likely make me go back and forth on them!   Good luck Maybe, I'm going to PM you here actually....

I saw the last brides message and I LOVE Jen at Simply Stated and after meeting with several people went with her.  She is very creative and has great prices.
