Neon Express

As a wedding guest, I've seen some obnoxious DJs that make everyone uncomfortable.  I really don't want someone who will bust out magic tricks, annoying (unplanned) games, or put on a show between songs.

I would love a DJ who makes announcements as requested, gets a good feel for the guests, and plays music that keeps everyone dancing.  Discreetly and professionally.

Can those of you who have used Neon Express calm my fears about attention-seeking DJs?  No sequin tuxes for this girl!

This was exactly my concern too!  While they haven't done my wedding yet, I had a meeting with Marc from Neon Express yesterday and spoke to him in detail about this.  He spent an hour with me, answering my questions and telling me about the service.  I told him I absolutely do not want a DJ to be the center of attention!  Just play good music, emcee the few things we need him to announce, keep people dancing, and be flexible on the schedule of events if need be.  He said that is exactly what he likes to do - he actually said that he prefers to "be heard and not seen."  Call him!  He is great.  I have his cell if you want it - Dave is the main guy at Neon Express, and if he isn't available, he hooks you up with his partner Marc.  I totally LOVED meeting with Marc, and booked him for our wedding.

I totally agree with the PP...although I haven't had my wedding yet, Neon Express has received such rave reviews and we had such a great meeting with Dave, I am super confident in their company :) They will do as little or as much as you request.

I just had dave do my wedding last weekend. We didn't really jive with him in our meetings, but figured we'd take the chance and just hire him, since he was cheap, and really, he's just there to play music, and if that's all I'm paying someone to do, I'd rather spend 300 than 600... So we risked it.

I haven't gotten around to writing my reviews yet in my bio, but will tell you this, it was a good risk. Dave did a great job, didn't do a whole lot of talking, announced what we asked him to, and kept the dance floor hopping, so I'd say he did a pretty good job!

That's good to hear Qston! Most of the reviews I've heard have been on Marc and I'm booked with Dave
