So, I wanted to see if anyone on here has joined Slimgenics. I have about 40 extra pounds to lose, and all of my previous efforts in the last few years have failed... so I'm ready to try just about anything. I've read all sorts of good stuff about Slimgenics, but I want an actual person that I actually (sort of) know to tell me it works.
Weight Watchers intimidates me with the whole group meeting mentality... and I don't like any of the pre-made meal programs like NutriSystem, because I end up being allergic to half the things they try to sell you (I'm terribly allergic to NutriSweet/aspartame.) So, Slimgenics seems like the way to go if I want professionally-assisted-weight-loss... but I want to make sure it's not a crock of s*** before I pay a bunch of money.
Also, if anyone can clue me in to a ballpark cost for the program, that would help a lot, too. All the website says is "it can vary depending on the weight and how quickly you need to lose it" but I want to know what that varied range is!
Re: NWR- Slimgenics..?
But unfortunately I don't know anything about Slimgenics but I know there are a few others on here that do.
Good luck!

I've kinda really screwed myself up since thanksgiving, and I need to get back on track, because my average was 4.3 pounds a week for four weeks. I felt amazing. Life just got super busy and it is a diet that you have to have time to prepare meals and such.
There is so much to say, and if you are interested I could PM you phone number or something and we could chat about it if you want, or if you have specific questions I can answer those. I have a PM I sent Shan when she was thinking about it, and I'll forward it on to you.
The cost is up there, though. For 40 pounds, I would guess the upfront costs for consultations and whatever is about $450. You have to pay that all at the beginning. The vitamins and supplements (not required but they really really help) are about $170 a month, and the snacks (required) are $32 a week.

My goal is also 40lbs and I'm down 10lbs (3 weeks) I lost 4 lbs the first day just doing their cleanse and have lost 3lbs a week since. I haven't been the greatest at sticking to the plan but I have still managed to loose every week. I can also give you more details in a PM if interested.

[QUOTE]<strong>The thing that I didn't like about WW is that it wasn't really all that healthy.. you could still eat fast food if thats what you wanted to spend your points</strong> on, you know? I have heard that they are redoing their system now. Slimgenics is also just all about the FAST results (WW says 1-2 pounds a week, slimgenics is 3-5) in a very healthy way and keeping it off. I'm not gonna lie, I've been totally off program for the past two weeks and I haven't gained even an ounce back. Plus, I love the one-on-one support instead of big meetings. They are always so upbeat and supportive, you feel like they honestly really care if you lose weight and how you are feeling.

<div>That's true... but you should also take responsibility for yourself. Technically, on Slimgenics, couldn't you still go 'cheat' and grab fast food? I mean, regardless of what kind of 'diet' you're on, you can always cheat if you don't have enough self control.</div><div>
</div><div>Part of the reason I like WW is that I've learned just how much fast food 'costs' me. When I look and realize I can stop and get breakfast at McD, but it costs me 24 points (on the old system, it's probably more now.)... I can relate that more easily when I know I can have like 6 homemade sandwiches for the same points. The points system helps simplify everything.</div><div>
</div><div>Overall, I think WW is far more productive in teaching you healthy eating habits that will last the rest of your life. I know a few people who did WW for one month, got the info, and then just followed the plans on their own for free after that. </div>

That's what my mom, sister in-law & I are doing! We were all on WW for a year or so, at different times. Now we follow the plan & meet once a week to talk about our ups & downs & set goals for ourselves for the next week. We've been doing it for a year or so, & between the 3 of us we've lost 60 lbs!! = ) To us, it's all about not letting the diet or plan run your life, but to be mindful off what you're putting in your mouth!
Good luck! = )
I'm not totally keen on the "cleanse" concept at the beginning of Slimgenics, but from what I've read, it sounds like the actual diet is pretty well-crafted and nutritionally sound. I don't know.
I'm going to mull it over.
I'm intrigued by their new program and kinda wanna check it out just to see how its different, and perhaps to see if it would help me to maintain a bit better. Let ,me know if you have any questions!

Ditto this. Completely. You can eat a fast food buger on WW but then you're going to have practically no points left for the rest of your meals. I loved WW, I lost 25 lbs and while I didn't do it online, I generally would just go weigh in every week but then leave before the meetings due to my schedule. Worked great for me.
