Twin Cities Outdoor Receptions

I'm looking for a not too expensive but nice outdoor venue for my reception in the Twin Cities. Any suggestions...

How many guests?  What part of the twin cities?

Welcome to the board, by the way!

Not sure what your budget or guest count is, but we got married at the Carlson Conservatory (holds up to 160 seated) and it was STUNNING. The sister-venue, which is larger, is the Carlson Rotunda, also extremely beautiful. Both sites have a very elegant and classy feel, in my completely non-biased opinon ;).

We also looked at the Milennium Gardens in Plymouth. It was pretty, and cost less, but it didn't have the feel we were going for.

There are tons of other great outdoor locations, I'm sure the other ladies will chime in, and check out the Mpls bio for other ideas.

We're getting married at Trellis Events in Stillwater. It's absolutely gorgeous. Can be pricey, depending on what time and day you hold the ceremony. They have been absolutely fantastic to work with and I have no doubts they will help make our day go smoothly. Definitely my favorite part of the wedding-to-be so far.  www.trellisevents.com

Thanks ladies! Guest list will be about 150 people. And we're thinking the St. Paul/east side of the cities but we're not against any other areas.

I got married at Harriet Island in September and it was SO great. You can use all your own vendors for food/alcohol so you can work within pretty much any budget!

We had our reception at the Eagan Community Center, and although the whole reception isn't outside, our guests and we were able to use the outdoor patio with our rental.  It's a great venue (beautiful!), and you can hold your ceremony there too in one of three spots.  HTH!
