+1's for STD Addresses

Hi!

For those of you sending out STD's, how are you addressing those guests who will be invited with a +1?  Are you simply only addressing the STD to that one person, then on the invitation going with Jane Doe and Guest?  I guess it would be silly to give a STD to a potentially imaginary person, but I don't want the guest to think they can't bring a guest based on the STD wording.   Thanks!

They will know who is invited once they get the invitation.  And if it's a big deal to them, they'll ask :)  We just used the actual person's name for the STD, then put "and guest" (if we absolutely had to because we didn't know who they would bring) on the invite, just as you described.

Us too - just went to the main person for the Save the Dates and when the real invite went out, I made it my goal to get everyone's guest's name ahead of time and resorted to the "and guest" only if I couldn't find out.

I'd say that it depends on your wedding. If they're out of town, it might be nice for them to know for sure that they have a guest when they're making travel arrangements and booking the hotel. It couldn't hurt to address it to both, I think!
