Minnesota-Minneapolis and St. Paul

Dress Shopping

Anyone have a list of wedding dress shops in Minneapolis they could send me?

Re: Dress Shopping

  • I don't have a full list but there's the Wedding Shoppe in St. Paul, David's Bridal in Richfield and Brides of France, which is where I got my dress. I went to the one in Richfield but there's one in Edina and another one somewhere I can't remember (I think Mpls?). I believe there is also a Mestad's in Edina (I went to the one in St. Cloud).

  • I highly recommended Rush's in Minneapolis. It's great. TONS of dresses to choose from.

  • I got my dress at The Hope Chest in Blaine (maybe Ham Lake?  idk exactly) anyway, I would NOT recommend them.

I got bridesmaid dresses at The Wedding Shoppe and I've been pretty happy with them.

I also tried Bella something or other in Woodbury and liked their space.

My friend who got married in September raved about Che Bella in St. Paul.

  • Macy's also sells wedding dresses downtown Minneapolis.  My friend just got hers there.

I will second Heartstrings bridal.  I didn't get my dress there, but we got all tuxes and chair covers and they were wonderful to work with!

  • We got our BM dresses from The Wedding Chapel in Crystal, and they were great! Plus the prices were better than most of the other places we went to. I had a so/so experience trying on wedding dresses at the Wedding Shoppe, mainly because they automatically put me over in the plus sized house across the street from their main store, and had to keep going across the street to get the dresses I wanted to try on, all of which I was able to fit into. Also I hate places that don't allow you to take pictures of the dresses - how the heck are you supposed to remember what you liked?!

Also, if you go to Heartstrings, don't use their alterations person. My SIL had a HORRIBLE experience with the alterations person and ended up having to spend a lot of money on alterations that should have been much much less. We had a fine experience in the store, but once the dress was purchased and things started going wrong, the managament was no help whatsoever.

And in general, don't let stores convince you to order two sizes up. They'll tell you that the floor samples are stretched from people trying them on and that even if the dress fits, you should order up. It's BS that they feed you to get you to spend more on alterations.
  • Wow! Thank you all so much!
  • I would recommend Bridal Accents Couture in Burnsville. They just moved into a bigger space but it was very relaxed and pressure free shopping! I ended up getting my dress there after going to 6 other bridal salons :)
  • Angelique's Bridal in Blaine is always so nice and helpful.  I have had bridesmaid dresses from there and am going there for my Bridal gown next week.
  • I loved the wedding shoppe in St. Paul.  I loved the different theme style rooms and I got a great deal on my dress.  I know they are busy so you haventi to have an appointment.
