    1. Best thing to do to beat the summer heat?
Anything on the water! Preferably with a good drink on the "relaxation station" up at our cabin (I was tricksy and got this as a wedding gift for my cousins. They use it alllllll the time, but I get to reap the rewards when I'm up there, too! Clever, clever):

    2. Favorite 'family' restuarant? (i.e. not a big chain)
This is tough! Maybe a sushi/thai place near our apt in Chicago called "Kin".

    3. Best subject in high school? Worst?
    Best: English, Choir, Anatomy
    Worst: Math?
    Not sure - I was a go-getter in high school. :)

    4. How many kids do you want to do have? How many does FI want? Where will you compromise? :)
    FI wants 4, I'm thinking 3.

    3. Best subject in high school? Worst?
English was my best, Math was by far my worst.

    4. How many kids do you want to do have? How many does FI want? Where will you compromise? :)
Both my FI and I are on the fence about having kids, so there really isn't much to compromise on :-P

    1. Best thing to do to beat the summer heat?  Stay the hell inside with the a/c on!  (I hate summer)

    2. Favorite 'family' restuarant? (i.e. not a big chain)  The Modern, and a couple places in the Chisago Lakes area where I grew up that are either out of business (Rainbow Cafe) or nobody's ever heard of

    3. Best subject in high school? Worst?

Best: English and biology.  I also did really well in floriculture, but that was a throwaway class
    Worst: Math (I know, typical)

    4. How many kids do you want to do have? How many does FI want? Where will you compromise? :)  We want 1 or 2, absolutely no more than 2.  We're a little older (I'm 34, he's 38), and we don't want to start a big family this late in the game.  Also, I'm worried my eggs will go bad after a couple more years.  I never thought I'd have to worry about being too old to have kids, but here I am.

    1. Best thing to do to beat the summer heat?
Yeah, stay inside with the a/c on....when it gets too hot out I just refuse to leave

    2. Favorite 'family' restaurant? (i.e. not a big chain)
Pepitos texmex in Mpls.....FAVORITE restaurant ever!!!  5-8 Club comes very close behind that too

    3. Best subject in high school? Worst?
Best subject....everything except the English class I took senior year (the teacher was a total biotch and made everyone miserable, still have nightmares every now and then about her)

    4. How many kids do you want to do have? How many does FI want? Where will you compromise? :)
We fantasize about having 4, but will start with one and see how it goes!  We want 2 girls and 2 boys, and yes we already have names picked out.....the question now becomes how much longer can I keep him at bay from TTC!  LOL

    1. Best thing to do to beat the summer heat? Favorite thing about living in an appt. our outdoor pool, if it's not storming tonight, that's where I'll be!

    2. Favorite 'family' restuarant? (i.e. not a big chain) There are a lot of places I like to go eat, but I guess I'll say Mi Famiglia, authentic Italian food DT St. Cloud

    3. Best subject in high school? Worst?  Best? I had good grades in all my classes, but I guess the easiest classes were math, the ones that took the most time for me were science because those upper classes were all about memorization, and I'm NOT good at that. I'd spend hours memorizing pages of notes at night.

    4. How many kids do you want to do have? How many does FI want? Where will you compromise? :)FI wants 1 or 2, I see us with 3, but who knows. My brother and SIL wanted to have several "natural" children, then adopt some, then become foster parents, now they have one, and it might be their only one. So obviously plans change, and we'll see how it goes.

    1. Best thing to do to beat the summer heat?
Swimming or drinking a cold drink

    2. Favorite 'family' restuarant? (i.e. not a big chain)
This is not really a restaurant but it is called Cup and Cone and is in White Bear Lake. All the other buildings around it got torn down for a strip mall years back but the community wouldnt let Cup and Cone get torn down. Awesome ice cream too!

    3. Best subject in high school? Worst?
This is hard because I really like school - a lot. But I prolly struggled the most with Honors Theology and enjoyed Choir and Honors English the most. Choir as it was a break from all my other classes and Honors English as we stayed in the same group from freshman year and i had a ton of friends in that class.

    4. How many kids do you want to do have? How many does FI want? Where will you compromise? :)
I want to have 2 and joe wants an army :) which is really only 4 or 5 but I think we would compromise on 3 or 2. We have decided that we dont want only 1 but will prolly just play it by ear after we have 2.

Chou - I love the 5-8 Club!  They have what I call the "crack burger" but is actually named the Saucy Sally on their menu.  Once I get it in my brain that I want one, it's literally impossible to think of anything else!

    2. Favorite 'family' restuarant? (i.e. not a big chain) Are we talking Perkins-esque? Then Carol's Kitchen in Blaine or the Swedish Inn in Lindstrom.

    3. Best subject in high school? Worst? Best - Geography & history. Worst - Algebra.

    4. How many kids do you want to do have? How many does FI want? Where will you compromise? :) We agree. We're aiming for 2 and we'll see about a 3rd.

I forgot all about The Swede!  Best pancakes EVER.  That's about 8 whole blocks from where I grew up and where my parents still live.  Are you from Lindstrom?
  • edited December 2011
IWC - No, I'm not, but I live near F.Lake and have been to the Swede a handful of times. I love that place! (I love Lindstrom too.)

    1. Best thing to do to beat the summer heat?
Air Conditioning! I'm not much of a water sports type of person.

    2. Favorite 'family' restuarant? (i.e. not a big chain)
Willow Gate in Roseville. A total dive but I love the food. Best egg rolls I've found anywhere.

    3. Best subject in high school? Worst?
Best-- Social Studies (which I now teach)
    Worst-- Gym

    4. How many kids do you want to do have? How many does FI want? Where will you compromise? :)
I don't really want kids-- at least for now. We will probably end up with 1 or 2. I know that FI wants to be a dad but he respects my decision not to have any until I'm in my 30s and have checked off my bucket list.
