Oh man. I've been to a slew of salons near me, and can't make a decision.

Has anyone found a decent/moderately priced salon that does hair AND makeup? I'm ok paying a buttload for my wedding prep (though I would very much prefer not to), but I have 3 MB who I've offered to pay for as well, because they're all from out of state and I want to keep their bank accounts in the black.

I'm by no means well-off, but I want to give them the option of looking great, too, if they so choose to take me up on my offer.

Are wedding packages really worth it overall? They seem hideously priced, but then again, individual 'dos and makeup can really rack up.

I live near Selby AVE and Grand AVE so I've been looking around there... (Root, 526, Rouge, Aveda).  Can anyone recommend one over the other or whatever?

I loved my hair stylist Kim Welch from Shear Genius (info in bio).  She just did my hair, but she does make-up as well.  I wanted air-brushing, and she doesn't do that, which is why I went with Mariah's Beauty Marks for that.  She mentioned to me that she might be willing to travel to location for a wedding.  I was very pleased with the work and her prices were very competitive. 

Alternatively, Mariah did a great job on my make-up.  She doesn't do hair, though.  Info in bio for her, too.

Smart & Chic! They come to you!!

People love Ficocello's, which is at Snelling and Randolph, so right in your area.  I can't speak for their prices for wedding stuff, but I know they do a good job.

I am using Smart & Chic since they DO come to us--but then you get one stylist who does one person at a time.  If you want multiple stylists so that it goes quicker, a traditional salon is probably better.

I really love MASK Hair Designs in Minnetonka. I've gone to Trisha before and she does a great job! They also have full make up services and spa services there as well. I've been really happy with them everytime I've gone!

Just to clarify, if you are having multiple people that are getting hair and makeup done, Smart and Chic will send out more than one stylist. That way, you'll have the stylist you chose along with a back-up stylist or two (depending on # of people). You could probably request more than 1 person.
