Pocket Invites?

Is anyone coming to the GTG sunday that made their own pocket invites and would be up for showing me how they did it?  I'm generally pretty crafty, but paper crafts are a whole new ball park for me.. I've been googling and going to paper stores to look for some sort of inspiration, but haven't really found anything yet.

Looking through your bios, some of you made some really gorgeous invitations.. I would be so so so so so appreciative for a little guidance!  If you let me know what materials I need to bring (size of the card stock?  so far I've only seen like 12x12 and that really just doesn't seem big enough), maybe we could even make a mock-up.

Thanks in advance!

Best word of advice I can give you is to go to Paper Depot...they'll answer all of your questions AND make a mock-up for ya! They also have TONS of samples to look through for inspiration!

I second Paper Depot, they're awesome and and very affordable! I saw some pre-cut pocket invites there last week and they also have the big paper needed and lots of cool samples! I've gone twice at around 4pm and it hasn't been busy. When you go buy something even if it's just a sheet of paper they've been having sale coupons lately.

Oh great, I haven't tried there yet.  Will they actually show you how to create the pocketfolds?  The paper stores I've been to so far only sell them pre-made and don't have paper large enough for the templates I've seen online.

Paper Depot is good but I would recommend Anchor Paper too. They are less expensive as they actually supply Paper Depot. And yes, they both carry these big sheets of paper called parent sheets that you cut down to fit the pocket fold pattern. Then there is a Die Cut machine that you put the paper through and it cuts out a pocket fold pattern for you. Then it is just a matter of folding and taping and you will have your pockets.

    HTH!
