NWR - How did the snow storm affect you?

Did anyone miss out on anything because of the storm?   Get stuck on the roads?  Make snow angels or snow caves?

We holed up inside and addressed and stuffed STD's and watched "It's a Wonderful Life."  We didn't have any plans yesterday, luckily.  Today we're missing out on the GTG at Muddy Paws and dinner later with friends :(
FI's outside snowblowing (again!) -- we just bought the snowblower last week...perfect timing, I'd say!

I'm going to be missing my cheesecake tonight! :(  Other than that, not really. We made sure to stock up on stuff on the way home from work Friday... If we can get out of the parking lot, we'll try driving down to the dog park.  I'm thinking we should have invested in a dog sled at this point.

We missed out on a friend's wedding yesterday.   :(  Boo for the storm.  And today we'll be missing the cheesecake.  Otherwise, we pretty much holed up yesterday and I'm guessing we'll be doing the same today.  Our landlord hasn't done anything with our parking lot yet and the street isn't plowed.

We had snow almost as tall as me (5'2") cover our garage and block the sidewalk out of our building. Our dog had trouble finding a spot to go potty outside because she absolutely won't go into piles of snow that are taller than her- smart girl :-)

The property managers had Bobcats out this morning plowing the complex, as far as I know- the side streets haven't been plowed yet.

FI and I just cleaned our house and our 11 year old neighbor came over and played our Wii with us. Plus, I made some Pumpkin pancakes from a mix I had in the pantry and they were yummy!

I'm supposed to have 11 people over for dinner tonight.  We'll who shows up.  As of right now, FI is snow blowing the driveway yet again, and I'm stressing cause I wasn't able to go to the store yesterday for dinner stuff.

Other than that, we pretty much holed up in the house cleaning yesterday.

We headed out to the family Christmas yesterday in Cannon Falls, they pushed it to noon so we get get out of there early.  Well, we didn't leave at all.  We jsut got home this morning.  It was fun having a sleepover with the cousins and acting like a kid for the night.  We went sledding (man was that a workout), painted nails, and played barbies.  It was a pretty good time!

It wasnt to bad for us... We got out and shoveled our driveway and took the truck out to a friends wedding in St.Paul. It was mind blowing how many cars were stuck on the sides of the roads though. I though it was kind of a fun drive! :) Wedding was amazing adn we made it home after safe and sound! Today more shoveling then hot cocoa!

I missed out on a Tastefully Simple party yesterday (which I was the consultant) and my family's Christmas. Fortunately, the Christmas party got cancelled...so we'll be able to reschedule that. Missing out on cheesecake today, but that's all. Just been hanging at home and doing some baking. FI is suppose to take his boss to the airport in a bit, and I begged to go with...I need to get out of the house!

We had to cancel our little family Christmas with granny, but we will reschedule, so it wasn't a huge deal.
I tried to make good use of being stuck inside and got my table numbers done =)

Thankfully FI has a 4wheel drive Chevy, so we packed up some goodies and headed over to my family's house with the pup. It's amazing how we just drove with no trouble...my FI is from the country and 4wheel drive in the winter is the norm for him, so he's flawless at driving in big snow drift roads! lol. FI played Xbox with my brothers while my mom and I researched wedding stuff. We figured out our original guess of 150 for our guest list turned into 200! argh. Had a good cozy night with a family dinner and then we all watched Inception (bought it a couple days ago on Bluray, such a good movie!). It was nice! Now I'm actually grateful that my car is snowed in, because I have a final on Tuesday, and really need to get started on studying! I'm also a little grateful that the Dome collapsed so that the game was postponed til tomorrow night---gives me lots of time to study before then! :)

I had the best snow day ever!!! The only real plans we had was to go watch rollerderby last night, but it was postponed until today anyway -- we may or may not go. DH and I hung out at home in our footie pj's and watched TV, played video games, cooked, drank. We went outside at one point to help our neighbors move their car into their spot, since they got stuck just pullling into our lot. It was so much fun!!!

I left my house at 6am Saturday morning and drove from East Bethel to Maple Grove for work, normally takes me about 45 minutes, took me 2.5 hours yesterday. Made it there safely though there were so many cars in the ditch! I did get stuck in the unplowed road about 50 feet from the driveway I was trying to get into though, luckily a nice neighbor helped me get unstuck. Worked a 14 hour day and thankfully the main roads were pretty much clear on the way home at 10pm, I did hit a HUGE snow drift on HWY 10 in Coon Rapids though that sent me flying all over the place! Super scary. Finally made it home to get stuck in a snow drift at the end of the driveway. Sheldon had to dig me out so my car wasn't hanging in halfway into the street. It was a super long day!

I was supposed to work again today but since the plows finally came down our road and with all the blowing snow from last night there is a five foot wall of snow at the end of my driveway. Our snowblower isn't even making a dent so I called in to work. We are waiting for Sheldon's dad to come and plow us out with the bobcat. Oh what a weekend! It is beautiful though :)

I didn't really miss out on anything besides cheesecake today.  I got the bulk of my shopping done at IKEA, MOA, and Target on Friday night because I figured I wouldn't be able to get anywhere yesterday, and I didn't have any other plans for the weekend besides eating cheesecake and drinking wine.  I guess I'll put in another Breaking Bad DVD to catch up before the new season starts and so we can get something new from Netflix.  I might make some molasses cookies, too.

Our neighbor's garage had snow piled as tall as me! My and FI's garage is on the right.

Snow piled all around FI's truck!

My Beauty Party was cancelled on Sunday but still got Family Pictures in and met with our Videographer on Sat. I went home to St. Cloud so I had a garage = AWESOME! I got back to my apartment Sun evening and they still hadn't plowed and there was about 6 cars buried.
