Brasa Catering

Has anyone here used/using Brasa for their wedding caterers, or been to weddings with them? What did you think?

I know their food is delicious, and I know they're very reasonably priced, and their event coordinator, Ash, seems amazing. But I do have some concerns, so I'm hoping to hear from people with experience about these things:

- They don't seem quite as "full service" as other caterers, which is fine. I just need reassurance that they will pick up empty glasses, clear the dirty plates at the end of the night, replenish the dessert table, etc. Ash says they'd be happy to do it, I just would love reassurance from someone that they actually DO it.
- What do the tables look like? Is it just big chafing dishes on top of a plain table, or do they decorate, etc? Does anyone have pictures?
- The food isn't cooked on site but they seem confident that it travels well. Is this truly the case?

Anyone have experience to share?

Re: Brasa Catering

  • I just saw Brasa on Man vs Food! It looked really good. I have also heard great things about them as caterers.

I don't have any direct experiene with them, but I will say that many caterers do not make the food on site. Many venues do not have the facilities to actually make the food from start to finish. The will often make the food and then bring it to the venue to finish it or will keep it warm till they can get there and set up or use whatever the venue has to keep it tasting good. Our caterers brought the food already made and it tasted awesome. It is general practice, so I wouldn't be too turned off by that.

  • I'm interested in using Brasa too. Let me know if you end up using them. I'd love to know how it turned out.
