Plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas? your family? SO's family? Thanksgiving I'll be starting at Noon and hitting up 3 meals Mom's side, Step Mothers and ILs. I'll prob wake up Sunday :-p Christmas I'll be heading to Christmas Eve Mass with the ILs then Mom's house Christmas morning. Dunno when the extended family is getting together.

Favorite memory of the holidays? Mine are always decorating the tree on Black Friday.

Do you make a list? If so, what's on it? Sewing Machine, and some accessories for our Kitchen Aid Mixer. I'm a boring old married hag.

What are you getting your FI/H/SO for Christmas? Nothing well now anyway. H is deployed so he asked I hold his gifts until he gets back.

    1. On TG, J is going to deer hunt in the morning and then we will probably spend the afternoon watching the packers game at home before heading to my Grandmas for the big feast and also to celebrate my bday :) (my real Bday is Tuesday but we always celebrate it on TG). Christmas well, who knows yet!! Christmas day is always at my grandmas. But other than that, J's family is all divorced a million times so Christmas is always a mess. We dont know how that is going this year! 2. My favorite memory usually is just how much fun it is to have big dinners at my grandmas house. With Christmas music and cozy clothes. :) 3. No I didn't make a list this year since our wedding is so close after christmas. 4. Nothing. We are taking a week long vacation to Hawaii (our HM) a few weeks after so I think that is a gift enough for both of us. :)

Living in St. Cloud + snow = terrible. Every year I can't get over how long it takes them to do anything!! Ranting over...

Plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas? your family? SO's family?
Plans are up in the air at the moment still. It's tough to see both of our families because we both work in retail :-/

But I know I am going down to my cousin's house for Thanksgiving. He is an amazing cook so I can't imagine missing it! Haha. FI's parents are also having people over and I was hoping to make it to both but my cousin is in Lonsdale and FI's parents are a little south of St. Cloud so.. it's a far drive and both dinners start around the same time. So that's why FI isn't sure yet what he's doing.

For Christmas, I don't think we will get to see FI's family depending on when he gets off work Christmas Eve. In a perfect world we would go to his aunt and uncle's house then to my parents, but we probably won't get off work in time. We will probably spend Christmas morning at my parent's, then aunt and uncle's and go to his parent's at night. So much driving around, I wish everyone lived closer together! Ahh!

    Favorite memory of the holidays?
A few years ago my cousin surprised everyone by being at Christmas! She's a flight attendant and usually ends up somewhere on holidays (though sometimes she would be in Hawaii so it was hard to feel too bad!). I was in on it so it was so fun!

Do you make a list? If so, what's on it?
I do because everyone will get mad if I don't, haha. My parents usually get us one "big thing" and some smaller things. So the smaller things I have are basically clothes and movies and such. The "big" item is a sewing machine!

What are you getting your FI/H/SO for Christmas?
Well I work at a clothing store that we both love, so I might get him some things he needs from there. Other than that, maybe Skyrim (so I can play.. shh..) or some other games/movies he wants! Nothing too exciting, we're poor and trying to save for the wedding :-)

Luckily for this Iowan (ick-did I really just say that? For the record, at heart I will ALWAYS be a Minnesotan) we did not get any snow this weekend :)  For that, I am thankful!  I hope that by the time I drive up to the cities for Turkey day, the snow has disappeared.

Plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas? your family? SO's family?
    Turkey Day:
I will be spending Thanksgiving up in Minneapolis with my family.  I'm coming up Wed and leaving Sat.  Wed night, we're having dinner with my mom's immediate family and then for actual Thanksgiving, we're going to my mom's cousin's house to see extended family.  Friday I am spending with hometown friends.  H is staying in DSM and spending Thanksgiving with his family.

    Christmas:
H and I will be in Minneapolis to celebrate with my family on Christmas Eve and then leaving early Christmas morning to come back to DSM to spend with his family.  I'm not looking forward to all of the driving in such a short amount of time, but I'm very happy to be spending X-mas with both my side of the family AND my husband!  In the past we've always spent the holidays separate b/c neither of us wanted to give up X-mas with our families.  Now that we're married, we decided it's time for a change :)

    Favorite memory of the holidays?
Playing with my cousins and telling each other what we got them for x-mas completely unbeknownst to our parents.  That and eating lots of lefsa and Swedish meatballs!

Do you make a list? If so, what's on it?
I usually have a list in my head that gets passed on via word of mouth.  I don't necessarily make a formal list.

    This year I would like:
*a Mobius Strip "I Love You Necklace"

    * new watch
    * cookie sheets

    And...
*A house (a girl can dream right??)

What are you getting your FI/H/SO for Christmas?
*I will most likely be giving him an Android tablet of some sort.  It's the only thing he really wants this year.  Unfortunately we're also saving for a house, so I'm trying to figure out a way to fit into the budget.

P.S. : Steph, where are your answers??

FI and I are going to my grandma's Thanksgiving day, and his parent's this Saturday.
We go to my grandma's Christmas Eve, and his parent's Christmas Day.
    Favorite memory of the holidays?
I just love seeing all of my family during the holidays.. I don't see my grandparents much, and my uncle lives in AZ so it is always nice to see him and catch up.
Do you make a list? If so, what's on it?
This year I told everyone except FI to buy stuff off the registry for me.
I am still thinking of what FI should get me.. probably a bunch of little things for a stocking I think :)
What are you getting your FI/H/SO for Christmas?
I bought him the watch he wanted, and I'm getting him new boxers.

Thanksgiving: His mom is hosting Thanksgiving at her house so we are going to that this year. (we have gone to my families almost every year, so it's only fair to go to his side)
Christmas: So far the celebrations are all landing on different days so we are able to make it to every gathering!!

    Favorite memory of the holidays?
Having nothing to do, relaxing inside, spending time with family and drinking either hot chocolate or apple cider. I love sitting together with the christmas tree and lights on and feeling all cozy!

Do you make a list? If so, what's on it?
My family has a website where we keep our wish list so I ususally just add to that. This year I am hoping to get a pair of coach winter boots! :)

What are you getting your FI/H/SO for Christmas?
I am not sure yet, he hasn't gotten me a list. :)

Plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas? your family? SO's family?
We will go to my mom and dad's on TG and spend with my family... On Saturday FI's family is coming over to our house and we will host Thanksgiving.  Christmas eve is spent at my aunts house, we then spend the night at my mom and dad's since they are a block away from my aunt.  Then we head back towards our home and have Christmas Day with FI's family.
    Favorite memory of the holidays?
There are too many.  I would say, Christmas eve every year at my aunt's house.  It's a classy, yet casual night with lots of wine and a specialty drink every year.  Everyone usually is feeling pretty happy towards present time ;)
Do you make a list? If so, what's on it?
If I didn't my mom and FI would be very upset.  This year since we have our wedding my parent's and FI aren't spending a whole lot. On my list, a laptop sleeve, electric wine opener, jammies, slippers, iphone undercabinet radio, SD card for my nook,  new hoodie, memory foam pillow.  And I always add a puppy to my list!
What are you getting your FI/H/SO for Christmas?

Not sure, we bought our "big" gift on saturday  a 55in lcd tv, and FI is getting my dad's old PS3 so maybe some accessories for that, driving gloves, jeans, who knows!
