Has anyone ever been a wedding sales consultant at a store?

I'm just curious if you enjoyed it and what you were paid.  Admitedly I'm one of those brides who enjoyed being a bride and the bridal industry and thought it might be a fun part time gig. But I'm also wondering if its wishful thinking that a sales consultant would have as much fun as a bride, haha.

I did, I worked at Milton's Bridal before it shut down. I absolutely had a great time! Getting to know Brides and actually help them find their wedding gown was a great time. I don't know how many bridal shops work, but Miltons was non-commission and we were paid hourly, I only made $8.25/ hour but I didn't care. It was a great part time job for me to save up some money for my first baby!

I was fortunate though, I never had any horrible brides or bridesmaids, maybe it was just me that put them at ease? I don't know. But do be prepared for anything if you do plan to go down this road.

    HTH and Good Luck!

I worked up in Fargo at The Bridal Shop for awhile and I loved it! We were paid an hourly wage plus commissions on what we sold... it was so much fun to get to hear brides' stories and help them make their dreams come true! I personally loved going to work every day because it was always something different!
