Suit help!

FI bought a suit for our wedding - dark charcoal. We're not doing black because it's way too harsh for the feel of our wedding.

Unfortunately, it's impossible to rent a dark charcoal suit. We were at Macy's this weekend and they had great charcoal suits on sale for $149. Would it be unreasonable to have our GM buy those suits instead of having the boys rent? We'll pay for their dress shirts and ties. When FI was in my brother's wedding, it was $120 to rent the tux, so it's not much more expensive. 

Any help would be great!

We are having our GMs just wear a black suit...if they don't already have one....it's a great occasion to buy one.   There are good deals out there on suits....like you mentioned the $150 one and since it costs almost as much to rent them anyway, they might as well get to keep it after they wear it.  We'll be providing them with the ties.  Our GMs were actually excited when we told them the plan.

I don't think that's too much to ask the GM.  It costs just as much to rent them and they will be able to keep them.

Plus most girls buy their dresses

We ask our bridesmaids to buy dresses.  I don't think asking groomsmen to buy $149 suits is unreasonable . . . especially since they'd be spending over $100 to rent!
