Poll: Cake flavors

FI and I had a cake tasting on Monday, and we're trying to decide what flavors to go with. We're planning on doing a three tier cake (~150 slices) and a sheet cake (96 slices). We're planning on having about 200 guests, and our cake will be a buffet. We've decided to have the sheet cake be Devil's food, but we can't decide what to do about the tiered cake. I want to have it be White with raspberry filling. FI is worried that if we do the whole tiered cake white/raspberry that there won't be enough chocolate for everyone who wants it so he thinks we should do one of the tiers as chocolate (not Devil's) with vanilla creme.  I think that people will prefer white/raspberry since it's lighter for a July wedding, plus I think it's weird to have a third flavor for only about 20 slices. So, long story short, what would you prefer:

I prefer fruit flavors to chocolate...but what about doing the third tier a combo?  Raspberry and chocolate?

I voted Devil's food but I think it would be good to have a choice raspberry in the cake, that does seem like more of a summer wedding cake. I don't think you should do the chocolate with white frosting, people either love chocolate and want a lot of like fruit....

I'm a big fan of chocolate with white frosting, but JMO!  I was at a wedding that had it and it was amazing.

Thanks for the input! We did not even think about combining the flavors. I will ask FI what he thinks about that.

We had vanilla cheesecake with strawberry topping, chocolate and vanilla marble, vanilla with raspberry filing, chocolate with fudge filing, and carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.  My aunt baked everything, so we had more than we needed.

At the end of the night, the cheesecake and marble were completely gone, the chocolate and carrot almost all gone, and the vanilla with raspberry a lot leftover.  We took the leftovers and served them at our gift opening brunch the next day.

Go ahead and have the extra flavor even if it's only a smaller portion of the servings.. The reason you don't have to worry is because you're doing a cake buffet instead of serving cake to the tables. The whole advantage to having the cake buffet is people can choose which option they get, and if you run out of one flavor, so be it, the idea is to let people choose the slice they want and in this case, first come first served. If you wanted every guest to be able to have whichever flavor they want you'd order 200 of each flavor, but that's not the case, so go ahead and let FI win this one... OTOH, one other option you might not have thought of... Have a layer of white & chocolate cake for each slice and just change the filling in the tiers.. Some tiers get raspberry others get vanille creme..
