RD Ideas?

Today I was just about to email the venue we had chosen for our rehearsal dinner (Laredo's) when I noticed that they closed on Jan. 4th. Bummer! Now I'm trying to think of alternative ideas.

Since the Loring Pasta Bar is catering our wedding, we don't want Italian for our RD. Our rehearsal and hotel are both in DT Mpls, so we'd like to stay within 20 mins of DT. We have a max. group size of 50 - will probably end up being around 45 people. We want to do something fun, not formal, and we're not afraid to push the envelope a bit. BBQ, Mexican, Thai - whatever, we like it all.

Here are places I've thought of:
Bar Abilene
Azia
Chino Latino
Barrio (Mpls)
Bonfire
Salsa a la Salsa

Does anyone have any other suggestions? My creativity stores are low.

Thanks!!

How about Solera? They have a private room and I've heard good things from others who've had private parties there. The food is certainly good and it's right downtown:) You have some excellent other suggestions there, too:)

Glueck's also has a free party room, though that is more of a bar and has live band karaoke in the main room some weekend nights--that's a really fun atmosphere if you're interested in a different type of setting.

Maybe Brit's Pub? They have a private party room. Also downtown, English food and a ton of fun--if you're having a summer wedding, you could even do outdoor lawn bowling afterwards:)

We considered having our reception at the Atlas Grill, also downtown. The food was amazing and it's mostly a lunch place, so it's basically yours.

Hope that adds a few more possibilities to your list! Have fun:)

I was going to suggest Solera, and then I saw the others did as well :)

    Ditto Solera!

Another option is the Melting Pot - the fondue place downtown. We had our holiday party there last year for 20 people and it was really fun! Not sure how $$$ is is though...

And this year we had our party at Hell's Kitchen (right next to MP) which was also awesome! The food was amazing and the staff was really fun. I believe they have a room near the back you can block off.

I know. I am a Tex-Mex fiend, and I had been just begging FI to go there for dinner soon.

We're having our RD at Famous Dave's in uptown. Great food, great music, very reasonable prices, and they are super nice and accommodating to our group -- it's going to be the perfect fun little party before our super formal wedding the next day. You should check them out!

We're doing True Thai on Franklin. I don't know if the private room could fit 45, but the food is great!
