how long for alterations?

My dress fits almost perfectly right now but I have been losing weight (slowly!) and plan to continue to do so.  Wedding is in September fyi.  Oh, and apparently my dress doesnt have a bustle, is that normal? So I guess I need one of those too.  If you cant tell, this is not my favorite part of the wedding planning...  thank you!

I don't know about other alterations shops, but I worked with Louise and she recommended coming in 2 months before the wedding date.  I would guess in your situation you wouldn't want to go too early if you plan to continue to lose weight. Congrats on that by the way!

I just had my second fitting with Louise today (5 weeks before the wedding) and I'm going for my final fitting one week before the wedding when she expects nothing to change.  My dress fits perfectly right now, so I'm in a situation where I can't gain or lose any weight for 5 weeks...so I definitely recommend doing alterations as late as possible when you're trying to change weight.

    Good luck:)

Ditto PP! As for the bustle, that's something the seamstress does.

I'll third Louise.  She's fabulous, affordable, and makes you feel like a princess.  She'll go through a couple of bustle options with you, so you can decide which one looks best with your dress.

I can give her number to anyone who PMs me.
