OMFG this isn't happening...

I just got a call from my jeweler. I dropped my rings off the beginning of last week to get sized and my bands to get soldered...AND THEY LOST THEM. I seriously cannot beleive this. FML.

Apparently they shipped them off to get sized and soldered and when they went to ship the package back, they were missing one..which happened to be mine. I have no idea what could have happened to it. They are still searching, but they wanted to let me know "in case I needed to look for a replacement"??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? No! I want my rings back, I don't want a replacement.

HOly shhhhhhit!   I think this calls for a bridezilla moment if they don't do everything in their power to make this right!  You know...like, find your rings!
  • edited December 2011
OMG!!!!!  That is AWFUL!!!!!  I was totally dead set against letting a jeweler send my rings out offsite this same reason.... terrified they'd get lost!!!  Of course they all assure you that they've never lost a ring, blah blah blah but it frickin' happens!!!!  If for some terrible reason they don't turn up, I would demand they reimburse you for the ring PLUS emotional damages or something and TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!!!!!

This is exactly why I was having issues in the first place. I dreaded sending them off in fear they would get lost but never thought my worst fear would ever come true. The gold can be replaced in the rings, but the diamond is my great great great grandma diamond from her band that was passed down to me. I am going there today to raise holy hell with these people..hopefully they will find it soon.

Yikes. That is really shiitty. :( Especially when it is something as meaningful as an heirloom like that. I agree with PPs and hope you demand a LOT of favors in case they really cannot recover it. So sorry for that stress! What jeweler is it, if you don't mind me asking?

Kay/Goodman's... they are sister stores so everything gets shipped to the same place. They do insure the rings in case of something like this but come to find out they only valued ALL 3 RINGS at $1200.00. You can't even get a solitare Ering for that. Lesson learned...look at the paperwork when they are valuing them. They know the story behind the center stone, I just cannot believe this.

Story gets worse... I spoke with the branch manager who basically told me to come in today to pick out a new set that is PRICED at 1200.00..OH HELL NO! Conversation got a bit heated after he told me that and he gave me his district manager phone number. Needless to say I am waiting for a call back. He assured me that they are still looking for my rings which really makes me wonder if they are just going to create one identical to the one that was lost... basically buying time. UUGHH.

Wow, that is so awful. :( I would be raising holy hell, that is for sure. I really hope that if you raise it up high enough that they will do more for you. Definitely threaten to contact the BBB too.

UM, yeah, I'd be fully set to go full-on bridezilla on their asses-in their store, in front of other customers.  You'd think they'd be bending over backwards for you.

I am hoping they will take care of us before I have to pull out my b*tch pants. I have full intentions on humiliating them in front of their customers if this is not resolved properly. Not only that, but time is working against us at this point as we are down to 30 days..Gaaah I wish I could be excited at this point, but with my MOH last week and now this... I just can't help but wish it was all a dream.

I'm so sorry this is happening to you and I will keep my fingers crossed that they find your ring!  I can't believe they only valued it at $1200!  Did you have it appraised & insured?  We used some diamonds from my grandma when we bought ours, the store originally told us it would be worth $1400.  When we had it appraised (by an independant jewler), they gave us a certificate valued for $2800.  We made sure to have it insured due to the difference that the store gave us and the aprraiser gave to us.

Sending you best wishes!  We can all go to the store with you and raise a lot of hell!

LOL that would hilarious!  Yes, my rings were appraised and insured by a private company, so I am more than confident that we will be ok, but before I have to use MY insurance company, they and going to fix this.  I just want my rings back. I don't give a crap about the bands, and would have no problem replacing them, I just want my diamond. I am seriously sitting here, staring at my phone, waiting for it to ring.

Umm really? For 3 rings...That is total BS.  I would be fighting that, its not even the cost of the ring its the value that stone holds in your heart too. I would be flipping out. But I am kinda a hot head
