Wedding Bands

Does anyone have suggestions for a jewelry store in the area that isn't a chain? Just something off the beaten path that is reasonably priced?

H bought my e-ring at the Diamond Cellar. We almost bought our bands there, but since we lived out of state at the time, it just wasn't feasible.

I bought fi's band at JVL jewelers online. If you use promo code "Brides" you can get the $200+ ring for free, just having to pay $25 shipping! Its good quality and looks really nice. He was very happy with it.

I didn't get my wedding bands from here, but when I was in Columbus for my wedding I took my engagement ring to Star Jewelers in Bexley to get rhodium dipped.  I took it there since they were a mom and pop shop and not a huge chain, so everything was done in-house and my ring didn't have to get sent out like it would have with a giant chain.  It's on Main st. but I know you can google the address.  The people who work there are really nice and from what I could tell they had some beautiful jewelry.  Since I didn't do any shopping there I can't give you any info on prices, but I think it's worth checking out.  HTH!

any particular type of bands you're looking for?

I didn't get my rings locally ( I got them from a friend of the family in KY - worth the drive if you're interested) but I did check a bunch of local places out.

In downtown Powell there is a great vintage jewelers right on the corner called Kimberlys. They had such unique pieces. Just down the street there was a great place called Kristys (I think that's how you spell it) and they seemed very reasonably priced.

Well it might just be me, but I am a huge fan and Sam's Club and their wedding bands are so reasonably priced! We are getting the FI's band there for $89 when we had it priced for $380 at a local jewelry store! They always have great quality and I think that is the route we are going to go. Good luck!

THANKS for the heads up here. I had purchased a second wedding band for myself to wear to work but was unhappy with it. I just checked out this website and got a $289 ring for myself for free, just paid the shipping. Awesome advice!

Thanks for all the suggestions! We were jewelry shopping all day today and went to Diamond Cellar, Worthington Jewelers, Kimberly's, and then Krysty's in Powell, which is the place I think we'll end up going with. The jeweler is also the owner, and he's extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what he does.

I am a little late, but FH got my engagement ring from a local diamond wholesaler (Bearnie Helmick's) and had it set himself.  My ring is appraised for $2000 more than what he paid.  I guess it would depend on if you wanted diamonds on your wedding ring or not because I am not sure to how their regular bands compare.

The Diamond Cellar is outstanding. We talked directly with John Smith. The graduate gemologist. He was amazing and can tell you what would and wouldn't look good. He's honest, smart, and funny. He can look at a piece of jewelry, hold it in his hands and tell you an approxiamate value! I mean, he is fantastic!!! He isn't pushy and really takes the time to get to know you as a couple.
Also, to avoid in state taxes, ship it out of state and get it from whoever you shipped it to. Good excuse for a mini vacation. :)
    Diamond Cellar all the way.
We got my e-ring and band, custom band ($600) and the e-ring for around 1016. Great deals. Fabulous jewlery. Custom there is a great option too.
