Minnesota-Minneapolis and St. Paul

So, my mom has been hinting that she would love me to wear her wedding dress... My mom was married in 1986 so you can imagine what it looks like. (think lace cream puff with sleeves)

I thought that maybe I could look into having a dress custom made using the fabric and lace from her dress but reworking it into something that is a little more my style.

Has anyone done this? Do you have any reccomendations?

  • I Highly recommend JenMar Creations, they are experts at this!  I've had several cousins have custom dressed made by JenMar Creations which all turned out stunning.  So when my bridal shop completely botched my alterations one week before my wedding and refused to acknowledge there was a problem I knew exactly where to go. I called JenMar that Saturday afternoon and they got me in the very next morning for a fitting. Within minutes they knew what the problems were and how to fix them. They also took in my dress another 3+ inches which the bridal shop said I couldn't do because they wanted me to be "comfortable".  Within a couple of days JenMar had fixed my dress and it fit perfectly!

While I was at my fitting they showed me some dresses they were working on for a photo shoot, the theme of the shoot was "re-designed" dresses they found out-dated, or closeout dressed took them apart and used various pieces of the old dress mixed with new design and details to make gorgeous dresses.  Looking at the before and after shots I would have never guessed the beautiful dress I was looking at was once a puffy sleeved 90's style dress. They’ve worked with many brides in your situation, I just know you’ll be happy if you meet with them. They listen to what you want, are totally creative and their prices are reasonable.  Their website with contact info is: http://www.jenmarcreationsmn.com/
