Wedding Websites

Well, we've finally decided to start a wedding website (we've only been engaged for a year now, lol). Any one in particular that you've had good luck with? We're looking for a free one that's pretty intuitive with the ability to customize. How are the ones thru TK and weebly? Thanks!

I'm using the one provided by TK. I think it covers all the bases, and honestly I don't have the time to do a new one on another site. I'm getting planned out :(

Go for Weebly. Way easier user interface, more customizable and more dependable than TK. Lots more options, too.

weebly is super easy to use! that's what I use :)

I have both-- TK for our guest info -- its super easy fill in the blank. But I used weebly for my planning bio because it gives you more freedom

We used weebly for our site, very user friendly and has way more options than TK...we also didn't want the details to be public, which is hard to avoid with TK since anyone who knows your name can look it up.

Love that this was posted! I have been looking at peoples planning bios and wondering how to make one too! So most people prefer weebly? Is it free?

Yup, Weebly is free. They have a premium membership with more options, but the free one has plenty to it as well. I think most people use the free version (my bio is Weebly and it's free, for example).

Another vote for Weebly. It is SO easy to work with and updates are super quick and easy to do.

We have both. We used TK's for our guest info. I liked the format and the fact it could be searched on TK's homepage. (I can send you the link if you want to see it.)

But I use weebly for the planning bio that I share on here. (link in sig)

Another vote for the free version of weebly for a bio. I really like it. I am pretty dumb with computers in general and thought it was easy to use.

Also, I plan on making one on the knot in the next few months for our guests(before our STDs go out so we can include the url on there) because I also like that it is searchable by name.

Now FI mentioned that he was thinking of creating a website. Apparently he says it's easy enough (we'll see!) and like $20 for a year. He said our names are available to purchase as a dot com website - how cool would that be?! Then we could keep it after the wedding too and post updates like when we start a family and all that good stuff. Weebly sounds super easy though so I'm leaning towards that ;)

yes, we purchased our names as a website for under $20.. jeffandbreanna.com. Easy for our guests to remember. We are hosting it for free through weebly though.

This is kind of what we did. I used Weebly for my Knot bio (planning page), and we used The Knot's website for our guest information. Then I went on godaddy.com and purchased a doman -- www.pattiandvern.com -- which I had linked to our Knot website. So the URL (pattiandvern) was really easy to put on our STDs, invitations, etc, but I didn't have to create a website from scratch, cause The Knot does it for you.

I just copied the one I had on the knot and changed to Weebly, since I got nervous about TK not working properly...took some time, but I feel better about it, since I haven't had any problems with Weebly, compared to TK.
