DJ- Instant Request

Does anyone have any feedback on Instant Request DJ? I am having a hard time finding a good, affordable DJ - if anyone has any suggestions that would be great!

I have heard great things about Instant Request, but we ultimately went with Midwest Sound.  We met with 3 DJ's...Neon Express was the cheapest, Midwest Sound was next and then Instant Request was the most expensive.  We decided to go in the middle.

I highly recommend looking at Eclectic Entertainment.  He comes highly recommended by family and friends.  His charge is $600 for the whole night.  We met with him last weekend for our preliminary interview and were ready to sign with him immediately.  He is very easy going, eager to please, and lays everything out.

Instant Request did my friend's wedding last October and I thought they did a really good job! They played great songs and paid attention to what the bride wanted i.e. not a lot of cheesy dj annoucements/talking etc. The most impressive thing though was that the dj that was supposed to do their reception had a family emergency and wasn't able to make it so the head guy stepped in and did it himself! That gave me a lot of confidence in their committment so I booked them for my April wedding. I'm not sure what the other companies charge but I think we're paying $700 for "unlimited play". They made it sound like that was a deal though so I'm not sure if that's always the price? (April is off-season)

I really didn't care for the way they kept emphasizing that you need to tip the DJ $150.
Also I read a review on yellowpages.com, that was less than favorable.

I really liked Instant Request - I had Steve on my day and he was a PERFECT fit - I didn't get harrassed about tipping either, maybe they've changed their policy.

I have a full review in my married bio :)

I have looked into Instant Request and they seem great. I just found out that they also did my girlfriends wedding and she was very happy. I know that if you book them before March 01, 2011 they told us the price was 595.00 for the whole night.

THEY ROCK. Very professional, no nonsense, they give you what you want. I am getting married in September and they have been extremely accommodating, kind and patient with my questions. They are very affordable too. I highly recommend them! Call and ask for Shawn.

We are using midwest sound in september. We didn't even think twice about it after going to other shows they have done for friends and family. I would recommended them based on experiencing them at weddings. They do a great job and don't charge you an arm and a leg. The DJ's are very professional and they have a great selection of music. They didn't harass us about a tip and After asking my sister , cousin and aunt (who all used midwest sound) they did not bother them about a tip either. They all said the DJ's were great and they do a phone call a week before your wedding to make sure you and the DJ are on the same page. My family and friends who have used them said they were awesome. So we are going with midwest sound personally Laughing

    Hope this helps :)
