Creative Ideas!

Hey Ladies!! I am guessing that we are all trying to make our weddings amazing- and they will be! - but I keep trying to come up with little new and creative ideas to make my wedding/reception pop. I was wondering if anyone else would mind sharing their own ideas and maybe we can all borrow from eachother!
One of mine is I bought 75 pairs of flip flops from Old Navy when they were on clearance for like .46 a pair and I'm going to have my BM's put them on the little stage in baskets with signs saying like "put on some dancing shoes" or something so when people's feet hurt thet can kick off the heels and still have a pair of shoes on!

Oh, there are tons and tons of ideas out there. Just spend a little (or should I say a lot) of time here on TK and online and you will find more than plenty. Your question is also really vague, if we had some more detail or specifics, we might be able to help you better.

yea... there are lots of ideas out there for sure.  Maybe we could help you more if you told us more about your wedding.  where it is... when it is... your theme and all that good stuff.
For something fun... We are using the photoboxi at our wedding. Its similar to the photobooth but way better.  and we are doing a candy buffet.  Those will be our favors.

I have spent lots of time looking but I wasn't just trying to get ideas for myself but for everyone. I guess I didn't phrase it well. Maybe I should have said "what is your favorite extra element of your wedding?" . I don't know. Just trying to start some interesting dialogue. Sorry for the confusion

For our wedding, I tried to do some fun personal touches with the extras we had.  We  provided little water bottles for our outdoor August ceremony, so I had some personalized labels made. I loved how they turned out:

We also had a cookie buffet for our favors, which was delicious!  We had custom made labels for our cookie bags.  I just love little details like this!

One of my favorite element is not really extra, it's going to be our favors. FI is a Buckeye, and I went to University of Maryland (Go Terps...even if they can't make the NIT Tourney). So, we are going to get a buckeye and gummy turtles to give as favors!! I am super excited about this, especially since it took forever to find any kind of turtle candy (I don't like those chocolate "turtles" candies, I hate nuts, and I was worried that if we had someone allergic to nuts, they couldn't enjoy any part of our favor). I like that the favors really represent us.

I'm also thinking about doing the water bottle labels, our wedding is outdoors, so I want to provide water for them. And, I'm thinking of getting a special, custom aisle runner.....that's all I can think of right now.

I love the cookie labels! And the gummys!!! That's adorable!! My FI is a Buckeye too and I went to Ashland- I only wish we had a chance at any major tourney!! That would be a cute idea if I can find some Eagle candy! I love to read and we are naming our tables after Great Love stories like Romeo and Juliet and Elizabeth Bennett and Mr Darcy.

Cheescake pops!!!  One of our favors is Cheesecake on a stick (lollipop style) covered in a white chocolate dyed pink with strawberry and rasberry flavor!!!  YUMMM.

We're having a small scoop of ice cream served with each piece of cake (because is there really anything better than cake & ice cream?!?) I think we might also get a big bowl of ice cream and serve 1 to each of our Dad's as a special surprise treat because they both love ice cream. Not sure yet...

We're also bringing in a popcorn cart at the end of the night for people to have a late night snack.

And a photobooth, but that's becoming more common I think.

</div><div>I'm loving the water idea since my wedding's in July and the ceremony's outside.  What did you use to make your labels?  Or I guess I should ask, where did you get them printed?  I can make a design on photoshop but not sure where I can upload my design to get them printed.

We ordered waterproof labels from Etsy seller <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/NatalilyDesigns" target="_blank">Natalily Designs</a>.  She designed our labels, so I am not sure if she would just print them for you if you sent her your design.  I know there are ways to DIY water bottle labels - I would try posting that on the DIY board, and I am sure you will get lots of ideas, if it was something you wanted to do your self. :)  I do know that the labels are different sizes depending on which size bottle you use, we used small 8 oz. bottles, which I thought was a great size, and some etsy sellers didn't have the label size I needed.  Hope that helps, let me know if you have any more questions. :)

I'm debating doing a Jeni's Ice Cream and Candy Bar (I have a huge sweet tooth). Fi and I did our engagement photos down in the short north at Jeni's and I think it would be a fun touch to add to our wedding just because of the sentiment.

I think we are also going to be doing the flip flop buckets ( I found cute ones at the dollar store online!) and also bathroom baskets for both the mens and women's restrooms.

Mens- little spray deo's, floss, mouth washes, eye drops, gum, mints, bandaids, lint roller

Womens- hairspray, spray deoderant, floss, mouthwash, gum, mints, clear nail polish (for pantyhose runs), eye drops, bandaids, lint roller.

Also debating finding old school polaroid cameras for each table for people to take pictures of and stuff, or even possibly doing a janky polaroid photo booth with old school props (picture frames, wayfarers, moustaches on sticks, monocles etc)

we have a travel theme - I am American, fiance is French - so the programs are passports, the escort cards are boarding passes, one of the favors is a bag of Krema Nuts  (you get nuts with your drink on a plane, get it? and their headquarters are in Grandview where I'm from) with a sticker to close the bag with this quote - The ones you love are always in your heart, and if you're very lucky, a plane ride away" SATC, the card box is a globe, the invites have a belly band that are cut out from an old atlas, and the table names are cities that FI and I have visted with a picture of us there, a short ditty why we went there. It is a 5x7 card the name is printed on a diecut luggage tag and the back of the card has a map of that city glued to it and on the escort card table are two maps, one of the US and one of France to show guests where their table is in the world/where he is from....I think that is all of our creative touches....It seems like a lot when you list it all out but I trust it will look fabulous and not be too themey! I have had so much fun searching for ideas from other brides on TK and the internet! I'm planning our wedding from France with a TON of help from my mom so adding these touches helps me not miss out on some of the planning!

That all sounds so fun!  I am sure it will be great, and definitely not too theme-y - it will be sophisticated! :)
