Cake. done.

Just back from the tasting at Buttercream. OMG that is some good flippin cake! sold.
I think I am going in cancel my other 2 appointments for next week, cause nothing is gonna top that, and the price is awesome (PEC preferred vendor - no cake cutting fee)  I had a tasting at Keys last week, and while the price was great, the cake at Buttercream is on a whole other level. Outstanding!
I think I will order RD cake at Jack's bakery (our neighborhood bakery) in Brooklyn Park, they are so yummy and close to home
cheers!

One of the best parts! I just wish I could have tried all of the flavors :)

Man, I want some cake now...seriously! Can't wait for that part, neither can FI.  We're at the PEC too so that's where we're probably going to go.

Oh BTW, how many flavors did you get to try? I drool over everything on the website, just want to know how many we'd have to narrow it down to for the tasting. TIA!

We tried 8 I think, and chose Baileys and almond praline, but after looking at their website I may have to go back and try a couple of others....they were ALL good though!

    YAY YAY YAY!!!!

Haha we went to Buttercream for our tasting and signed the contract on the spot! We canceled our appointments for other places :)

We also chose the Bailey's, and the pumpkin. The almond praline was DEFINITELY one of my favorites too!!! :)

We did a tasting there on Mon and loved it too. We're probably going to go with them preferred vender also at our venue. We loved the Bailey's and the Praline! We didn't get to try the pumpkin but i'm super jealous b/c i'm sure I would've loved it!

That's it, I have to go back to sample pumpkin!!!  Not very "springy", but I don't care. It's my wedding and I heart pumpkin anything :)

martiac: the Bailey's & almond praline are the flavors we're going with for our wedding cake from Buttercream too!!  I wish I could have an 8-layer cake so we could have all the flavors! :-)  I LOVED the cake and pretty much ate all the samples they gave us, while wishing we could take some home too!  mmm...cake...

Great choices :)  I am seriously going to call and see if I can come in and sample a couple of more.  I didn't think to ask if we could do more than 2 flavors?  We will have a 4 tier cake after all.  I ate most of the samples too...hate to see good cake go to waste!

FYI, you can request as many flavors to sample as you want! You just have to request them ahead of time, so they have them made. I think we sampled, like, 12+ flavors :)

The pumpkin is UH-MAZING. I thought I'd definitely want carrot cake (my FAV), but the pumpkin was just as delicious, and more unique than carrot cake. Seriously TO.DIE.FOR.

Oh! And we're *kinda* doing our groom's cake from there. We're getting their oreo cake for our rehearsal dinner, but it's not going to be decorated or anything -- just cut and served in all its deliciousness :)

Same here--I requested to try a couple other flavors (strawberry ala ritz was sooo good!) and they were all there at the sampling.  FYI the guy at Buttercream said they would be coming out with some new flavors later this year and it would be all right to have another tasting later to sample the new flavors!  I said of course I'll be there!  :)
