Minnesota-Minneapolis and St. Paul

Wedding Day Coordinator

I'm thinking I will definately need a Wedding Day Coordinator. My wedding is at 130 and reception at 430. Set up has to be the day of I'm thinking I wont even want to think about doing anything on that day! I'm looking for a recommendation for someone who can coordinate everything that needs to happen on the weddig day. Have any of you booked anyone or if anyone can recommend someone I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks

We are using Corinne at Memory Makers Decor.  We are renting chair covers, sashes, ceiling draping, overlays, backdrop, table draping, mirrors, candles.  She is also working with all of my vendors with me to make sure I don't miss anything and that I get the best prices I can :)  I think there are a few other knotties using her for decor not sure about coordination.  I have really enjoyed working with her.

I am using Maria from Ispiri, info in my planning bio. She has been great. I am only using her for the day of, but she came to an appt I had Monday at the venue just to check it out and meet some of my family. Very reasonable rates too. GL!

My mom has a tremendously large family, with 6 sisters who insist on helping.  If I don't assign them things to do they will just start doing things and that's when it starts to get crazy.  They've all volunteered to help with the wedding so I have come up with a list of what needs to be set up and they will be on it.  So I don't need to hire a DOC, but I know that a HS classmate has just started her own wedding coordinating business:

I don't know that much about her business, but just thought I pass it along.

Suzie - I didn't realize that Corrine did DOC. Good to know. She is doing most of our linens. Awesome to work with.

I know some of the girls here have used
Fab.u.lous Events as well - i'm sure they will chime in.

the mpls bio has links to the vendors - i was bored at work yesterday and reading them. Just another resourse to check out.

    HTH :)

I contacted Fab.u.lous events last summer and Kristen was very responsive with emails and quite helpful.  I haven't actually met with her, but I hope to have some room in the budget to hire a coordinator and she will be at the top of my list.  I think she was charging $800 for DOC at the time I contacted her.   I would love to hear recommendations from other's experiences with coordinators as well.

Check our Elizabeth Anne Weddings (contact info in my planning bio under vendors). She was the DOC for my wedding last month and did a completely awesome job. I don't have my vendor reviews written yet, but I'll be giving her an A+.

I am meeting with Heather from http://untilitlooksright.com on Monday. From the women who have used her I hear GREAT things! I'm quite excited :)

I'm working with Kirsten at Fab.You.Lous Events and she is absolutely wonderful! She goes above and beyond the DOC duties and has been helping me out a ton all the way since I hired her (in Jan 2010 for my Sept 2011 wedding). I 100% recommend her! Tell her Jon and Allison sent you if you go meet with her!

I'm also using Maria from Ispiri Events.  I think she's great so far!   Super sweet, organized, and very reasonably priced.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Kirsten with Fab.you.lous Events!  She was instrumental for keeping a wonderful, calm flow to our wedding day.  Everything was taken care of just the way I had planned it and if anything went wrong...I still don't know about it.
I recommend her to EVERYONE that asks about a DOC.
There's a full review of her in my married bio if you are interested.

We used Sarah Trotter from Lasting Impressions Weddings. She was amazing, was an excellent value for the money and has a great personality. She made sure that everything was done just how we wanted it but was behind the scenes so we barely knew she was there! Highly recommend her!

We used Deven Nelson and she was great to work with. She did a fantastic job! She also does flowers, but we had already hired a florist when we booked her.

Do you know offhand how much Stephanie charges?  I'm in the market for a DOC, but can't afford the Devon Nelsons or Fab.You.Louses of the world.

I second both Deven and Kristen - I interviewed both of them and ended up going with Deven strictly due to price difference (as a last minute add, our budget was good and tight on this) but I would have felt perfectly fine hiring Kristen if Deven hadn't been available for some reason on my date.

I would recommend Blissful Events. They are very affordable. I can't believe $800 for one day!...crazy! :-P
