MOB Dresses

Where did your moms find their dresses? My mom and I have been all over and we can't find anything she likes and looks good in.

Any links or pics would be helpful too.

We found my mom's dress at Macy's in the fancy dress section.  She look AMAZING in it and I almost cried when I saw her in it!  I can't get my picture to paste (I am soooo not a tech saavy person).

My mom had a similar problem. She decided to check out the Dressmaker to see if they could make her something she would like. She had her consultation last week and said it went really well. She brought in some pics of things she liked, and they discussed what about those styles would or wouldn't work for her body type. They are now in the process of putting together some sketches for her and figuring out the costs.

That may be an option if you've got nothing else!

We found my mom's dress at Bloomingdales.  I have a picture of it in my bio.. trust me it looks much, much better on a real person.  My mom had a hard time finding a dress she liked in the MOB section of the bridal stores.  I recommend searching Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Macys, etc...when we went searching (which wasn't that long ago) they were having a good sale on a lot of formal gowns which always helps!

My FMIL and step mom have both had luck at Von Maur. I think my mom is getting her MOB dress at Davids bridal.

my good friend's mom found hers at Von Maur at the EP mall.  I have heard of a lot of moms having good luck at Herbergers too...thats where my mom wants to look for hers.  We havn't started that part of the planning yet though, so we'll see!
