Minnesota-Minneapolis and St. Paul

Oh my...

DH and I decided to take an an adorable 7 month old kitten off the streets last week (she had been showing up on our doorstep for over two weeks).  Well, DH took her to the vet today to make sure she was healthy enough to mix with our other cats, and guess what.  She's preggers!  Not only is she going to have kittens, she will for sure have them while we are in New Zealand.

I guess I should get my housesitter something really nice.....

Oh, and if anyone is looking to adopt a kitten in , oh say, eight weeks, let me know.  The mom is super adorable (long-hair dusty brown and charcoal gray calico with white belly and legs), so hopefully the kittens will take after her.

She looks a lot like this kitty, but she's seven months, so a bit older and her coloring is darker.  She's pretty much the cutest cat I've ever seen.  I don't think you've met this one, as she just started coming around a few weeks ago.

Holy crapola! Can you contact a local rescue organization to see if they might be willing to find owners for the kitties?

I'm going to see what my friends and family network can do first as far as taking them.  If no one there wants them, then I'll move to rescue orgs.  Honestly, she's so little this has to be her first litter.  With be a stray and all...I'm guessing she'll have a small litter and there's a good chance that not all of them will be born alive..  Just a sad fact about street kittens.  One of the vet techs really loved Kaylee's markings and said she might be interested in one of the kittens if they look like her.  So that's maybe one down.  :)

I'll post pictures when I get back from the trip (in about three weeks!).  I'll be more than happy to send irresistably cute photos to any friend/family member/sweet heart that you think might be tricked into taking one and giving it a good home.
