Reception Venue Near Lake Minnetonka

Hi MN Brides,

I am planning a wedding for the end of Aug, 2012 and had my heart set on getting married at the Woods Chapel followed by a reception at my family cabin on Big Island on Lake Minnetonka. There is a bit of family drama happening which may prevent the cabin from being an option, so I was curious if anyone had suggestions for reception sites near the lake. I have already checked with the Lafayette Club and Bayview, both of which are booked. I would be happy with indoor or outdoor spaces.

The Carlson Center Towers are in Wayzata, which is reasonably close to Lake Minnetonka.

I was in the wedding party for a wedding that took place at the woods chapel a LONG time ago. They had their reception at the median entertainment center (not 100% sure about the name). It was up on the main road, before you turn into the back areas that take you to the chapel.

There's the Medina Golf and Country Club which is north of Lake Minnetonka.  My sister in law had her reception there and it was beautiful!  Minnetonka Orchard hosts tented receptions.

Also, there are a lot of places in Chanhassen/Chaska area if you didn't mind your guests having a little lengthier scenic drive south to the reception... Bearpath, Oakridge, Hazeltine, Arboretum...

The Burl Oaks public golf club is really close to the Woods Chapel. It's not on the same scale as the Lafayette Club, but it has a nice ballroom kind of room, and a great deck.

We are probably going to use the Medina Entertainment Center on Hwy 55.  We were super impressed with them when we talked to them last week and looked at the facility.
