Reception Venues with 8K

Hi.
Im having a hard time finding venues to keep my 8k limit. Thinking between 200-250 People ( maybe less but depends id like to keep 200 tops but we will see would like a venue that is flexible)
For  rental, food & bev & drinks would like to keep it at 8k. We could go over Although i am really wanting to keep the  8k Limit.

Any thoughts? Is this even able to do? Or do i need to up my budget?  This isnt counting decorations or anything else but pretty much the rental fee and food and drinks.

We are hoping for a  Victorian/ Vintage classic feel if that is possible!
Ive looked at a few places and they seem to be so pricey . Like one is 4k to just rent it . And another had 12k mini.

 Thanks!!!

If you could cut the guest list under 200, you could easily keep that budget with the Historic Courthouse in Stillwater. The absolute max capacity there is 200, though, so you'd want your total in attendance to stay under 175 if possible to stay non-crowded.

My budget was $11k. but I splurged on some things I probably could have cut back on (chair covers and flowers mainly)... so I'm confident you could have a beautiful wedding there with 8k.

You choose your own caterer and provide your own beer and wine, so that allows you to cut costs A LOT... plus, other than flowers and linens, the space doesn't really require any additional decoration, it's gorgeous as is.

I agree with Maybe-- the Stillwater Courthouse is a great venue. We had a Victorian-themed wedding there and it was perfect. We had a budget close to yours and loved the courthouse because we could choose our own vendors. Selecting your own vendors is one of the things that will save you the most money. Places with in-house catering can charge a premium because they have you over a barrel.

You asked if 8k is doable-- of course it is!!! The wedding industry wants you to think that you have to spend 20k, but in reality that is just marketing. The more you DIY and research, the more you will be able to save.

When I checked into the Profile Event Center (PEC) it was $7,000 catering min for a Saturday wedding or $3500 for a Fri/Sun wedding.  The only thing it doesn't cover I think is beverages/bar tenders, which you are responsible for supplying.  BUT, since you aren't contracted to a vendor for alcohol, you can get it all from Costco or the like, making it much cheaper.

It's a gorgeous space and many brides from this board have had their wedding there. We would have too, but $7000 was actually way above our budget for only 100 guests.   www.profileeventcenter.com

Not really victorian or vintage.... but I had mine at River Oaks in Cottage Grove.  I think it would fit with your budget.  The room itself is nothing special - but if you're having it during a decent weather month, there is a great patio off the back of the room that overlooks the golf course.

I am getting married at Crystal Lake Golf Course in Lakeville, MN.  I believe thats in your price range.  I think they can hold that many, but I am unsure what the head count limit is.

Diane and Victoria have been great to work with.

We're having our reception at Summit Manor in St. Paul. They have a 200 person max, so that might be a concern for you, but they do seem very reasonable compared to other mansions in the area. We will keep our total well below $8K, even if we go with the highest priced entree, but we are expecting about 120. Centerpieces with fresh flowers are included, they have no cake cutting or other hidden fees, you have to bring in your own alcohol (saves a ton of money), little to no decoration is needed because it is a mansion (we're just doing old pictures on the mantle), they rent by the hour and the only minimum is for 100 people as opposed to by total price, and it is definitely vintage-themed!

<div>HOLY COW!!!  They've really raised their rates! As beautiful as PEC is, I don't think it's worth that much.  Also, their catering prices really aren't that high-or at least they weren't when we looked at them, so IMO, it would take a lot to get to $9750 (and P.S. that's a really odd number to choose for a minimum).</div>

With 200+ people, you're not going to have trouble hitting the minimum at most places. I'm finding that hotels can be good options because a lot of times the room fee is waived if you hit the minimum. So the minimums are around the same prices as other venues, but then you don't have that extra room fee. Or, if the minimums are slightly higher, at least you're spending an extra thousand or so on food instead of on the room...
